Copy dvd's In Malaysia
Hi there, just wondering the price of copy dvd's in Malaysia. We will be in KL and Langkawi. Where is the best place to buy the dvd's and what is the approximate price?

Copies here are between 10-20RM (around 2.50 to 5.00 US$)
Try china town.
The police have been cracking down on the sale of pirated dvds for a few months now. Hopefully you will get there on a good day.
If you see only older movies for sale, just ask if they have new releases hidden in the back store rooms.

of where you are from. I am from Melbourne and at the moment the aussie $ is having a hell of a great time. The rate is currently at AUD$1 to RM2.90. The good dvd copies are about RM15 which makes it about AUD$5 and sometimes they have buy 5 get one free specials.
I know some good places for food too so let me know if you need some help.

we are doing a Super Star cruise and will be visiting the ports of KL and Langkawai. I have been to both places a few years ago ( Before I had a dvd player )I remember seeing them in various places but couldn't remember a price.
Any other tips or suggestions would be welcomed.

Yes, Sungai is great for cheapness and variety. You can get cheap authentic Levi's at Jaya Jeans. They carry a lot of styles that are not available in Aust. For footwear, you will go crazy at Vincci boutique just opposite Jaya Jeans. The price range is from about RM15 to RM100+.
What you must try in KL is a hairwash. It is a habitual thing that local women do in KL, a lot of them don't wash their own hair at all coz they just visit their regular salon. Don't be surprised if they wash and massage your head while you are sitting upright. The head and shoulder massage are to die for. Any salon in Sungai Wang or any other salons in KL will include massages with their hairwashes. Just make sure to choose one that is not so busy so they can spend 1/2 hour just washing your hair. If they are busy, they tend to speed everything up. When you see girls sitting around in the salon, it means they are the 'shampoo girls' hired just to wash hair. The styling is all left to the hairdresser afterwards.
If you have time to visit another shopping mall, go to KLCC and book yourself into Clarins beauty salon. Their treatments are well worth your money especially with the strong aussie$ and you can have lunch at Madame Kwan on the 3rd or 4th flr, try their Nasi Bojari. They specialize in hawker food.
Other restaurants you should not miss are : Bon Ton on Jln Stonor, call 2744 3848 for bookings. They serve a excellent blend from the east and west. For dessert, you must try their peach and banana crumble which is an old favourite.
The other place is Tamarind Hill in Ampang, about 10 minutes from the city. They serve excellent Thai food. Just the location (a very old bungalow) and romantic setting is worth the visit. Ask for a table outdoors.
Both restaurants have websites if you are interested.
