I have not been to that cooking school, but I can highly recommend the Thai Farm Cooking school http://www.thaifarmcooking.net
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience which includes: an early morning stop at the market (buying food for the meal and learning about the unusual foods for sale), a walk thru the fields at the farm to see how the fresh produce is grown, and the cooking class itself. Each student gets their own workstation, so this is a totally hands-on cooking class. Excellent instruction and delicious results.
We also received a small booklet of recipes which we used to recreate the meal for our family at home.

A number of people here have posted rave reviews of A Lot of Thai.
Most cooking classes include a visit to the market early in the morning, individual workstations, and well as a printed copy of the recipes as the above poster experienced at another cooking school.

Unfortunately, the search function is set to search only titles, you have to go to advanced search to get the posts searched. So it's hard to find things like reviews of particular cooking schools.

How large are their classes? One of the pictures looked like it had around 13-15 people in it? Is that how big yours was? And was it a recipe book that you got or a booklet of copied recipes?

We visited A Lot of Thai last year and I echo all the same sentiments already expressed. It's fantastic...and Yui (the proprietess) is an awesome teacher and a fantastic human being.
We did a private lesson, since we wanted a much more advanced lesson than basic Thai cooking (we'd already taken a few classes) so it was perfect for us--but even if you want a basic class...and the extra cost isn't a bother to you...I highly recommend this route as the one-on-one attention you get really makes for a unique experience.

My DH and I took a class with A Lot of Thai in 2008 and we highly recommend it. As filmwill said, Yui is a great teacher and lots of fun. Her entire family are wonderful hosts. We took a group class and it was a lot of fun. She keeps the class size small which allows her to spend sufficient time with everyone. There were a total of 7 adults. You not only cook, but she takes you to a local farmer's market so you can see what different ingredients look like (plus alternate ingredients to use if you can't find them once you get home). She also gives everyone a recipe/cookbook and we have used it many times since. The level of attention that she and her husband put into it shows - from door to door pick up and drop off at no extra cost to the prep and cleaning of all utensils and ingredients! We wouldn't hesitate to go again.
