combining a trip to Sri Lanka with India

Jump to last reply

My wife and I (62,57) are considering going to Sri Lanka in September, 2013. We have about 3-4 weeks all together.
We are considering combining Sri Lanka for 9-10 days with 9-10 days in the India Golden Triangle area. We have never been to either country. We always like to end our long trips with 3-4 days at a relaxing resort before heading home. For this we are thinking about one of the Malaysian islands, which means that we would take Singapore Airlines whose prices for an open-jaw LAX or IAH through Colombo and Delhi are comparable for doing it through Europe. (We live in Florida.)
Is this totally unrealistic to try to combine the two countries in one trip? My wife likes to keep things simple, but I don't know when we're going to be back in the area for several more years. I have some Sri Lankan friends who tell me that I could spend all three weeks in SL.
