Coconut Palm
Bob, I keep losing the other posts, so I'll just start over. You are right -- maybe telling the CP I am an American Princess would work, and agreed -- Tong is definitely a princess!
If this doesn't work for the ice-cream, however, their pad thai is the best we have had in BKK. They fry it "just a little" on both sides before serving it -- yum! yum!
Enjoy.

eks, my notes say that Coconut Palm is "across the street" from Wat Po. It's one of the restaurants on my list to try, but I haven't been there yet. Personally, I don't take taxis to that part of the city. I'd take the water taxi to the pier closest to Wat Po and walk from there.

its on a sort of main street....but yes a taxi would take you there....not too sure how close the nearest river stop is but it can't be too far...
remember they close about 7PM...best to get there before 12 at noon as the locals pour in from the nearby government offices especially the military ones....
