Will be in Delhi for three nights in February. Want to buy/have made several tunic dresses. Need to know where to go! Want these dresses for more than just the trip so would like "better" shop. Just saw the article in the NYTimes re high fashion saris. Sorry not my thing, just want dresses wearable in NYC. (Returning to Delhi for flight home so some could be delivered to our last hotel.)

you will find shops in the more upscale malls and at many western lux hotels... hyatt regency being one..
There is a store chain called West Side, there is a branch in Karol Bagh and other places. No bargaining--it is a store with price tags.Good prices by Western standards.
ALSO--Fabindia, Anokhi, and my favorite, Soma. Google for locations. Fabindia's selection and store atmosphere varies a lot depending on which location. There are both Fabindia and Anokhi in the Khan Shopping village, but other places too.
The Soma in Jaipur was fantastic for quality and fit, so i hope the one in New Delhi is as good
I looked at the Soma website...excellent. But, do they make clothes to order? I want to have the dresses made to size or if off the rack fitted.
In Khan village there is a shop called Vishnu. I bought several tunics there last year. They are well made and stand up to washing very well. Found sveral other interesting places in Khan village.
