I'm sure you can get one while in Bangkok. But how much of your vacation time do you want to devote to getting a visa? I'm sure there are others here who can tell you what kind of time commitment it would take to get your visa in bangkok.

I have got one in Bangkok but I am resident in Thailand, I'm not sure if visitors can.
How long it takes depends on how long your country takes to process a Chinese application for a Visa. I was told come back in two days, a UK colleague was told five days,
