Chinese new year in Beijing

Jump to last reply

Just wondering if any Fodorite are in Beijing these days and are enjoying noticing how the locals are getting ready for the Lunar New Year.

Are there any special foods/delicacies in restaurants or are you seeing lots of red lanterns etc for sale everywhere.

Have been reading about the this celebration and would love to hear what really is happening in modern Beijing.

I am sure as you get closer to the celebration, you will see more. But many people will be on vacation and traveling, so maybe it effects the travelers too as getting tickets may be difficult.

Have a great weekend.
