China Spree Tour company
Has anybody used China Spree Tour company to go to China? I made tentative reservations with them for a Luxury tour in April 2012. I asked them to completed my visa application . When I downloaded their Visa application I noticed they put down hotels from their lower ( first class) tour. I inquired about the listed hotels and they said it was fine to leave these hotels on the application even though I'm staying in five star hotels. Has anyone run into this situations with other tour companies? I'd hate to find out my hotel /tour package is not not what I expected it to be. I still may consider another tour company- any recommendations?

Fair to say some complaints about bait and switch and
doctored hotel photos... to be fair good reviews also
www.affordabletours.com many better reviewed upscale
options my last one of these was with Globus 40% off
Thought it great value for an upscale group tour.

Hi jmulligan - I just got back from the Middle Kingdom tour with China Spree (September 11-22). I had a blast and they really exceeded my expectations. The hotels we stayed at were excellent - all 5 star with one 4 star thrown in. The tour guides did were fabulous and the group was maxed out at 16. I followed these blogs before I went on my tour and was slightly apprehensive. I took the land only tour because I wanted to spent a few days in Beijing adjusting to time. When I arrived at the first hotel on the tour, a letter was already waiting for me from the national tour guide, leaving me with all her contact information in case I needed any help. She also followed up with a call that evening and had prearranged wake up calls for all of us the next day so that we wouldn't miss the introductory session. That is just one example about how well organized and thorough they are. I'm not a blogger and if you back into the history, you will see that I also asked some questions last year about China Spree. Yes, the cost of the trip is reasonable but quite frankly, you are getting way more than you pay for. They didn't scrimp on anything. If you don't speak the language and you want to spoil yourself a little, this is the way to go. I've travelled a lot and I'm not sure if I would try to wing it in China on the first go. I might think about independent travel next time but, honestly, I had so much fun, I would probably go with China Spree again.
You will have a great time, I'm sure.

we did a chinaspree tour about 4 years ago. really enjoyed it-- but they had only one class of tour at that time. seems odd that they would split it into 2 classes-- as the regular tour seemed very first class to us. did you check the dates and other details of a regular tour vs a first-class tour? i the international air travel a higher class as well? we loved just about everything about the chinaspree tour-- except the food. i would say that most of the dinners were just barely average. they kept us busy every single minute-- and handled every detail for us. the guides were superior.
