I was searching previous posts & couldn't seem to find any recent information regarding Chiang Mai to Siem Reap flights. Is Bangkok Air still the only airline flying from BKK to Siem Reap? I couldn't find any airlines flying directly from Chiang Mai to Siem Reap without a stop in BKK. Is that correct? The lowest fares are just about gone. I am booking 5 months ahead & am surprised there are so few flights. Of course it is Christmas week & but I didn't think it would be quite that busy.

From the Nation newspaper:
"Bangkok Airways did offer a temporary service between Chiang Mai to Siem Reap, the gateway to Cambodia's Angkor temple complex, between May 15 and October 27, 2009 but later decided not to introduce permanent flights between the two tourist spots."

No flights or plans between Chiang Mai and Siem Reap that I know of. Your options are either through Bangkok or Luang Prabang. The former is Bangkok Airways while the latter is via Lao.
Thank you for your very quick responses. I will get busy reworking my itinerary - again!
