Chi Chu tunnels and Cao Dai Temple

While checking out the sinhcafe website for the mekong trip I also had a look at the Chi Chu tunnel trip, this is a half day tour but they also offer it combined with the Cao Dai Temple. I know dgunbug did them both so June if you're hear what did you make of it, is it worth the longer journey.

These are both good tours, but if I had to chose I would pick Mekong over Cu Chi.

krgystn, I've just realised my post is confusing for who hasn't followed my post for Mekong. We are definitely doing Mekong and also Cu Chi my question is should we combine the Cao Dai Temple with the tunnels which is a whole day tour or only do the Cu chi which is a half day trip?

The Cao Dai Temple really is one of a kind; I'm glad I went, but then, I love that they've got Charlie Chaplin and Victor Hugo in their pantheon of saints. It's a little bit Disney and a lot different, but you really have to see it to understand. There are some pix here: http://travel.webshots.com/album/569832392chwMeC (on page 3) but they don't do justice to the sights of the site.

We thought the Cao Dai Temple was very interesting, although it was an extremely long day with lots of driving. We also did it as a day trip with Sihn Cafe and enjoyed our interaction with our fellow travelers. I would probably do it again despite the lengthy drive. The temple and monks are so colorful and make for great photos.

Thanks everybody, we've decided to do it, we might only be in Vietnam once and it would be a shame not to se everything possible.
mohan, I know there are fake sinh cafes I'm hoping I have the original one the website is www.sinhcafevn.com and the address in Saigon is De Tham St. As there's also a branch in Hanoi I think we'll wait until we get to Vietnam and book both the Tunnel and the Mekong tour in Hanoi.

Just saw this. I thought the Cao Dai temple much more worthwhile than the Cu Chi tunnels, unfortunately I don't think you can do it alone on a set tour.

Cao Dai is worth the trip, i enjoyed watching the mass at 12.00am. Very interesting, it's only another half day, so go for it.
