Can you recommend a Xian guide for the day?

We hired a guide and driver from www.wacts.com. They met us at the airport and took us to see the Warriors.

Our guide was a pleasant young woman with some assumed English name. She wasn't outstanding by any means but she was competent. She was desperate to practice her English so she talked to us non-stop. We were tired and wanted to space out in the car but she wanted to discuss DINKs, a concept our Dazu guide also was keen on! We did our part and conversed with her all day.

I set my parents up for a Xi'An tour in September with Clarence Guo (email [email protected] or see his website taxitour.com). They just loved him. Clarence does a package tour of Teracotta Warriors, cave dwellings and a Daoist Temple. He picked them up at the airport to begin the tour.
It's CRITICAL that you clarify that it will be exactly Clarence who does the tour because he works with others who aren't as?/very? good. If you want a private tour you need to verify that too because he prefers to do small group tours if there's demand.
My parents did the city tour with his brother or someone (we knew ahead of time it wouldn't be Clarence) and it just wasn't as good. Further they didn't get the private city tour we planned so they demanded and received a discount.

I used Clarence last year. He is very good. I was just looking forward to the Terra Cotta warriors but I would have to say visiting people who lived in the caves and talking to thme really made the trip. I think Clarence is the only one in Xian who does the cave dwelling tour and it was worth it.
