I've found a tourist bus on weekends, or bus # 919 from Deshengmen to Yanqing then change to bus # 920 to Lonqing. Have just now read about a bus #919 from Badaling to Guchen, which it says is a short walk from the Gorge. Does anyone have any experience with this, please? If this is so, it seems one could combine Badaling and Longquin in one day - not wanting to walk for miles on the Wall, that is.

Carrabella: Did you get to LongQing Gorge? Is it as lovely as the photos? Looks like a mini Guilin/Yangshuo, thanks.
Not there yet, Shanghainese - will report when we get back in a few months time. I intend to try - last time, we got to Badaling on Bus #919, and this time, I have a pamphlett in Chinese about Lonquin to take with me, to get assistance on the way if necessary. It does look a pretty place.
