October weather 31/24/21. Another resource 31/24/14 days of rain. Your best and least expensive trip is via Malaysian Air. It's an air pass with many destinations, check it out, also Kuching is a much more desireable destination.

November weather 31/24/16 the other resource 31/24/21.

Instead of Penang investigate Langkawi. The Sheraton Perdana offers extrodinary location. One draw back is all restaurants are open air, not air conditioned. If you decide to go book thru the 800 reservatin system for Sheraton

Enjoy!

I stayed in both Borneo and Penang in November, and apart from the first couple of days did not experience much rain - perhaps I was very lucky - I too had read that November was wet, and had I a choice I would go for October.
Enjoy it, the place is a dream.
Steve
