We are just booking our hotel in Chiang Mai & have decided on 3Sis for location, reviews & price. We are booking two rooms for our family of 5. My question is whether to book in the "front building" or the "vacation lodge". Apparently the vacation lodge rooms are larger and the front building rooms are on the street (apparently with a view of some temples) & are near the restaurant. Any advice from Fodorites whom have stayed at 3Sis?

We stayed in the vacation lodge and had a quiet and small room. The rooms are clean and comfortable without fantacy. The location is ideal and the staff are very helpful. We would stay there again.
We stayed in a room at the front overlooking the temple which provides since view at night when lit up and again at dawn when the monks start arriving and departing. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was spacious and minimalist in design. I agree with ladouca's comments re staff and location. Some very nice restaurants within walking distance and close to the old town etc. I would definitely stay again
Thank you - have booked!
