Book-end nights in Singapore - suggestions?
Thanks to your collective advice from my previous posts, my aunt and I are feeling confident about our trip to Bali. We leave on Friday morning!
I'm checking in for some last minute advice on Singapore. We are arriving after midnight and will have some time the next day before flying out to Denpasar in the afternoon. This time may be spent regulating sleep, but if not, we plan on exploring the city a little. After our time in Bali, we have two nights and one full day in Singapore.
I have already checked out other posts on this topic and noted the botanical gardens and Chinatown as day time activities. We would probably not be interested in museums unless we are totally burned out with outdoor activities.
Are they any other must-do activities that we should consider? Also, restaurant suggestions in the $30-40 per person range (or under!) would be very welcome. My aunt is taking care of a good portion of the trip and I thought it would be fun to celebrate the trip and thank her with a nice dinner with good atmosphere.
We are staying at the Conrad on Orchard Road, if that helps for restaurants.
Please forgive any typos, as I'm posting from my phone! Thanks, as always!

Go to the Botanical Gardens early in the morning and be sure to visit the National Orchid Garden while you are there. Singapore has an excellent zoo and next store there is the Night Safari. If you have never been on a "real" African safari, the Night Safari would be worthwhile. Either way the zoo is excellent. We found dining out in Singapore to be expensive, so unfortunately I have no recommendations which meet your criteria. Singapore will be very, very hot - if you need to get away from the heat there is one world class museum that you should visit and that is the Asian Civilizations Museum...

Go to Jumbo at Dempsey Hill and have black pepper crab. It's not too expensive last time i went we had starters, crab for main and some drinks and i seem to think it was about $40 (sing $) each. and you could then go to the white rabbit ( which is near the entrance to Dempsey hill) for cocktails outside. I have been to Jumbos for both lunch and an evening and enjoyed both.
I second Craig's excellent suggestion of the night safari, LOVED it.
Lau pa sat Hawker centre is a great place to go too, its set in an old Victorian centre and the food is great. It's walkable from Chinatown MRT (l'anson road exit)
