Looking for a different, unique hotel in BKK. I will be in BKK in early September for a few nights with two friends who have never been before. We are late-twenties single males. On previous trips I have stayed at the Millenium Hilton, Marriott, and Peninsula. Last time I was at the Hilton and Marriott I found both locations to be full of tour groups and the like. I am hoping to find something more unique, with a younger crowd, but still very elegant and sophisticated. Also, since there are three of us staying in one room, size of the room is a consideration.
I was thinking about the Metropolitan - possibly. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Perhaps one of these would be refreshing and a change from the international chains:

I have not stayed at these hotels though.
The Metropolitan is very cool and stylish. I always stay there when in Bangkok. The Met rooms are the nicest and very spacious. I wrote a report about the Metropolitan and if you search on this board it may come up. All of the hotels in the Como Hotel group are fabulous - Met in Bangkok, Uma Paro in Bhutan, and Uma Ubud in Bali.
You may have difficulty finding a hotel that will allow three adults to stay in the room. Make sure you ask those questions.
kathie is right....
the metropolitan came to mind immediately...
you might also look at the new marriott courtyard in back of the four seasons...i think they have double doubles... or queen/queens....
how about a serviced apartment with two bedrooms:
several centre point locations
marriott mayfair
ascott group
grand president
brand new emporium suites on the river or the older one on sukhumvit
