Hi...I am flying into Hong Kong in late October...then I am heading to Singapore...from Singapore I am thinking about going to a Beach Resort 45 minutes from Singapore by Catamaran called Bintan, Indonesia....Bintan is one of a 1000 Islands that make up the Riau Archipelago and they stretch from Sumatra's east coast to the Malay peninsula. Anyway...Bintan has been developed and there are some great resorts there:
BANYAN TREE RESORT
HOTEL SEDONA BINTAN LAGOON
MANA MANA BEACH RESORT
Does anyone have any experience on Bintan...Can anyone describe the place...?
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Wildlife Tour of India

Just returned to the US after living in
Singapore for 3 years. Bintan is excellent, the ferry system is "top shelf". Bintan is beautiful and lush.
I stayed at the Banyan Tree, when it first opened. This resort is very
deluxe, if you can afford the price
tag, it's the best. If not enjoy the
restaurant, the setting and food is
wonderful. Make sure you make a reservation for Bintan as soon as possible. Try to email or fax them directly to ensure you get the lowest rate and ask for the rate in local currency. Also while in Hong Kong or Singapore - go to a local travel agent, there are always specials going on and check to see if you got the lowest rate.
I stayed at the Club Med there and had a blast.
