Bhutan & Nepal Travel Help
My husband and I are thinking of extending a trip to India (in late April) to visit Nepal and Bhutan. We are a little unclear on how to obtain information and bookings for a Bhutan tour or package, either departing from Delhi or Kathmandu.
We've looked at the Kingdom of Bhutan's website, and while it is informative, we are confused as to who can help in getting our visas, tours and hotels booked.
A few questions:
1. How far in advance do visas need to be obtained?
2. We are thinking of late April for this trip - is this a good time of year for Nepal & Bhutan? What would the temps be?
3. Any other considerations we should have this far in advance of our trip?
4. Does anyone know of a Indian based travel agent/operator whom can help us via email/phone for the travel arrangements?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Any travel agent can help you book a trip to Nepal, or you can easily book it yourself.
For Bhutan, the rules are that you must go through a Bhutan agent. Agencies outside of Bhutan can book you, but they will have to contract with a Bhutan agent, so their price will be marked up accordingly. You will be accompianed by a Bhutanese guide throughout your time in Bhutan.

Hi
Bhutan is well worth visiting. I can't remember how far in advance you need the visas - it was all arranged via the tour agency.
For the timing - you may want to consider taking your trip at around the time of one of the festivals e.g. Para Tsechu. We went in March and the temperature was fine. Chilly higher up the hills, sunny and mild lower down. Layers are the key.

Can't remember any other considerations - basically send off e-mails to a few of the tour operators listed in the government website and you should get a better idea of who could help you in India (where i assume you are based? NB if you are Indian, you don't need a visa to go to Bhutan as far as I know).
