Best way to get from Airport to Kowloon
As much as I searched (I was probably using the wrong keywords) I simply couldn't find a thread on this subject although I'll bet this question has been asked a squillion times.
Which is the best way to get from the airport into Kowloon, The Salisbury Hotel to be specific? Would it be by taxi or by the Airport Rail Express. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Time wise, similar. Convenience and comfort, personal preference.
Cost: taxi about HK$280. Train depends on number of passengers and whether you switch to free shuttle or taxi to hotel (around HK$40).

I would not take the taxi from the airport. The Airport Rail Express works like a charm. I would advise you to get to Kowloon with it and then take a taxi to get to your hotel. The time will be almost the same but the price much lower.

Price lower on train for 1 or 2. If there are 3 or 4 of you, it's not cheaper. And there is always a risk there are no taxis available at Kowloon station.
Finally, at certain times of day, traffic coming out the AE station can be terrible. Taxis from airport will have problems too, but if the driver knows better, there can be alternatives.
Not saying those will happen, but the train doesn't always win.

Thank you for that insight. My wife and will probably try the adventure on the Airport Rail express and then get either a taxi or the free shuttle bus from Kowloon to the Salisbury. As we've never been to Honk Kong before everything about the city is new to us. Thanks again for your help.
