Best time to visit Thailand??
Hi! I'm planning on visiting Thailand in the next year or two and the first thing I need to figure out is when we should go.
We're looking to spend some time in Bangkok, Northern Thailand and the beaches, as well as a side trip to Angkor Watt.
When is the best time weather-wise and what are the most touristy times there? Ideally, we'd like nice weather without an onslaught of tourists. Also, are there any times when jellyfish can be a real problem in the beach areas? I love to snorkel, but not with jellyfish.

i have found that from nov 1 to feb 28 is amongst the best times to visit thailand...i recently spent 1/2 of may and 2/3 of june there and the weather was beautiful as well...lots depends on the year quite honestly and if you are lucky...fall is generally best after oct 15...
the islands can vary significantly...
it is hot, hot and hotter all the time, 24 hours per day...
jelly fish...on our first day in hua hin in late november, we encountered tons of jelly fish in the water...they were gone the next day and we never saw them again....go figure...

Yes, if you're heading for the coast, or the islands then research a bit further. The Gulf of Thailand will differ greatly from the Andaman Sea.

Between Nov - Feb is considered high season though.

Weatherwise November - February with Nov., Dec. and early Jan being the best. Not surprisingly, that is also the most touristy. Probably the busiest time is around Christmas and New Year and many hotels have surcharges during that period.

many people comment on not wanting to be in bkk or thailand when it is busy...quite honestly it is busy all the time like any major city/country in the world...i do not find it uncomfortable to be there when it is busy...maybe it is more difficult to get into restuarants without reservations when it is busy....sooooo plan ahead...
