Best Season to Visit Vietnam

When is the best season to visit Vietnam and Thailand? We'd like to avoid crowds and the season of heavy rain. Thanks in advance.

It depends on where you want to go in VN. Take a look at www.weatherbase.com As you can see different parts of VN are affected by different monsoon systems.

Hanoi was lovely in November, but Hoi An and Hue have flooding at that time of the year. January in Sapa can be quite cold, but HCMC is less hot than usual.

Crowds? Well, the cities are crowded, but not with tourists.

Mid-May is hot and you may have late afternoon showers, but all the fruits are in season; mangos, lychee, rambutan, mangosteen, durian! We've chosen to go in May twice for that reason.
