Will be arriving Bangkok Suvarnabhumi around midnight in two weeks to visit family. They usually collect me at airport, but this time I am insisting they not do so, given the late time of arrival and their new baby. Any advice regarding transport to hotel located in Sukhumvit soi 1 greatly appreciated. I'm looking for easy, efficient, quick. Is there still a car service desk located near arrivals exit?

- 25 Rajasthan tour: Car and Driver services, advise needed

You can take a taxi - quick, easy and cheap, maybe 350 baht. The car service located in the airport is also an option, but it will be about 2000 baht. I always use AAC Limo, which runs about 1200 baht. www.aaclimousine.com Email them for pick up.
Taxi would be cheapest and very easy. There are plenty of them available at that time of night, as many flights are arriving BKK at that hour! You will need small baht paper money to pay the tolls (which total 70 baht). Taxi should be around 250 on the meter, and a 50 baht airport fee must be added to that total. So about 370, give or take. Plus a tip for the taxi driver. I usually find myself spending about 400 baht to go to Sukhumvit soi 8. But that involves a bit of a trip in traffic along Sukhumvit Road in my case (that adds to the meter).
no problem at that time of night with a taxi....
Thanks so much for the info! I follow your posts, all, and appreciate you know what you're talking about!
When you change your money over to Thai baht remember to get some small bills and maybe even some coins to pay the driver. Drivers may claim they can not change even a 500 baht note so you say keep the change!
