Bangkok or Siem Reap at New Years

Jump to last reply

We are a family of four with two teens (14 & 16) who will be travelling to Singapore (4 nights), Bangkok (5 nights max) and Phuket (5 nights) over the Christmas holidays. We fly in and out of Singapore as this was the only available route on points. We have travelled to Hong Kong and China in the past, but this is the limit of our Asia experiences.

I am debating whether to spend 3 nights in Bangkok and 2 in Siem Reap. I have always wanted to visit Angkor. The kids want to go as well. If I do this, we will have 2.5 days in Bangkok. On the evening of the 31st we would fly to Siem Reap, then on to Phuket on the afternoon of the 2nd. It will probably cost about $2000 for just these two days in Siem Reap.

Do you think this is ill advised?
