We are considering Ariyasomvilla or Cabochon for an upcoming stay. Does anyone have a recommendation of 1 over the other, for a couple?

I know nothing about either one, other than, in my opinion, the Cabochon would have a better location. It is very important to be located near a skytrain station, for ease of getting around Bangkok!
Actually, location-wise, Ariyasomvilla would be slightly better, IMO, but I think Cabochon is a lot nicer. Either way, you're going to be five to ten minutes walk from the train. It is probably a lot quieter too. Ariyasom seemed like a rather basic hotel dressed up with some Thai furnishings, while Cabochon was more distinctive. There are a lot of restaurants around Ariyasom, but the ones around Cabochon are generally nicer (though you can read that as 'more expensive').
