My daughter and I have started researching for an upcoming trip to Baguio and find very little information on the area on this forum.
We would land in Manila late at night and would need a hotel near the airport . Thinking it would be nice to have a driver there to pick us up as we have heard that Manila can be rough at night. Does anyone have a favorite hotel?
Then we would need transportation to Baguio in the morning. I have heard it is a harrowing trip but well worth it when you arrive Baguio
Looking into Hotels Camp John Hay Manor sounds like our number one choice except for the fact that we will have no car and I have read that taxies are not allowed on the property making the distance to the manor a trek at night,
The Baguio Country Club is more than three miles from the center of town. Or so I have read . This would necessitate constantly taking taxies,
This leaves the Burnham Suites which I have read only overlooks the park and is on a noisy street, Trip reports say both good and not so good things about this hotel.
Should we consider Holiday Park, Hotel Elizabeth or Golden Pine?
I would like to be within walking distance of some of the attractions and would also like to know if walking solo during the day is a wise thing to do.
I have also heard that one should be careful eating the food there and would like to know others opinions on this as I am a foodie and would love to experience some of the traditional foods. I would imagine that the food at hotels would be fine to eat.
I assume bottled water is a must.
I really haven't researched attractions enough to know which we would like to do but if anyone has a DO not miss attraction I would love to hear about it.
Thank you for any suggestions

I've tried a few times to arrange a trip to the Philippines but ran into so many difficulties I gave up. I'll be interested to see how you go, so please post updates.
Hi there,
I suggest researching about Baguio tourist destination online so you can have a guideline on how to enjoy your tour in there.
On our first trip to PI we did visit Baguio- but we flew there from Manila. Not much to do and see there, I would suggest other trips and if you search this forum for my trip reports to the Phillipines you will get a number of ideas on side trips from Manila.Baguio will be much cooler than Manila but other than the weather there really is not much to do and see in my opinion.
