I was planning on a trip to Asia, and need advice to make it affordable?

3 Beijing, 3 Hong Kong, 6, Bali, 3 Singapore, or skip one of the Cities and do Bangkok instead?

Budget: $2,000-2,500 (US Dollars) ( 4 star accomodations!)

Any suggestions on a daily meal budget in US Dollars?

Prefer to travel on own, and by adding the China Spree tour, would this make the trip more economical for 1 adult?

The only tour company I am familiar with is Globus, the rest, I really know nothing about them except for reviews on Tripadvisor, and others?

Researching a tour with China Spree, "9 Day A Tale of China's Two great cities, Beijing & Shanghai" for 11 nights, for 1 adult, ( includes RT flight on Air China to California!) (Escorted tour), 20 guests, and the cost is $1500 includes breakfast and some tours! (includes $140 visa) March or April 2014?
Dates for tour- 3/21/14 or 3/28/14 or 4/4/14, and add Bali on own, for travel in April 2014?

I wanted to add on other cities after the tour ends Hong Kong (3) Tibet (2), and Bali Indonesia (6) nights? What is the best time for Bali, March or April 2014?

Problem: the internal air from Hong kong to Bali is around $800 US Dollars on Jetstar (Qantas afilliate) to return to Beijing, then fly on air china to California
or $1000 on Singapore airlines, for a "Asia Pass," only purchased if Round trip to USA is included, otherwise, airline will not sell air pass!

Monograms (Independent Tour, Globus) sell "Asian Sampler" 8 nights, and is $3,400, (US Dollars),(No RT air to US!)) for 1 adult, includes breakfast only, and some tours, but does not include Bali, Beijing, or Tibet!

Smartours, 13 nights, "Best of the Orient" $3,798, (US Dollars), (Includes RT Air, on Air China) for 1 adult, (40 guests) includes all breakfasts, and some tours, include H. Kong, Singapore,Bangkok, and Bali, not Beijing and Tibet!

Pacific Holidays, "Great Cities of Asia Tour IV", 11 nights, (40 guests) (includes RT air on Cathay Pacific to US!) March 1-31, 2014, price (First class accom, $2295 plus $1075 supplement = Total $3,370 US Dollars!) Includes all breakfasts, and some tours!

Any suggestions to make this trip affordable?
