Before dinner at hutong, planning initially next wednesday to see the symphony of lights from the clocktower area. Then it was suggested to do the aqua luna which sounds fantastic. The only comment from a person on trip advisor was that it was packed and many people were standing esp those that got on at the central pier, If this is the case then it is not worth it. Does anyone know the real lowdown?
aquana luna symphony of lights boat cruise standing room only?

To be honest, we found the light show a bit, uh, anti-climatic. Some buildings light up in colors and some lasers shine across the water. I wouldn't recommend planning a night around it. The boat might be nice, but for the overall night view of the city from the water rather than for the light show.
thanks for advise
Not only is the light show anti-climatic, the best way to see the harbor is simply hop on the Star Ferry between Tsimshatsui and Central for HK$2.0 (US$0.26) lower deck. There are few reasons to take a tour boat.
When you do the Star Ferry, take the cheaper lower deck because you can walk around the deck. You are not supposed to stand up in the upper deck, and because of the way the seats are arranged, you can't walk around anyways.
