If so whats it like? I have heard mixed reviews but soem are rather dated. My husband and I will be in Singapore early December as a three day stopover back to London from Sydney. We are looking for a nice hotel, close to Orchard Road but with good amenities for some R&R.

Traders is run by the Shangri-La people. It has an excellent location here in Singapore because you can walk to the Botanical Garden, as well as Orchard shopping. It's a fairly long walk to an MRT station, but I always advise visitors to take cabs anyway.....they are so cheap and easily available, why not enjoy the view while you move around the city, instead of being stuck underground.
There are several restaurants at Traders's (An Hoi's Kitchen is pretty well known for local food like chili crab) but you are close to lots of other places to eat, if you want to try a variety during your stay here.
Thank you LIndsey. I love Singapore and the last time I was there, seven years ago, I vowed to stay closer to Orchard Road. I have seen on other sites that Traders gets some really good reviews so I think we will be making our booking shortly.
