    Hello!

I have been in Azerbaijan last summer and i really liked this country...Baku is very beautiful and ancient city, with a lot of architectural buildings, museums, monuments.

I also was in Shaki and visited Kish, there were many old beautiful Albanian churches and i stopped at Karvan Saray...it is hotel with restaurant, build as old Muslim Palace...the price is from 14$ for person (if you are not alone and take the room with smb else they make discounts)...you have to taste PAKHLAVA and KABAB..they are very delicious!!!

What about beaches...there are many different beaches in Absheron peninsula...i had been at some of them...but i liked more Nabran...it is situated in the forest in 3 minutes from beach...it is very interesting and youth camping...i liked it very much...i was given big two rooms tent and triple feed for 25$ per person...

What about accommodation...I did not like the hotel ARAZ, which i was advised through Lonelyplanet forum...indisputably, it was chip (20$ per day), but it was far from the centre of the city, it was very dirty, with terrible black-beetles everywhere, without bathroom and kitchen (i thought that if i would stay there i had to spend my money for traffic to reach the centre, for feed to eat at the restaurant/cafe/snack/ and for laundry to wash me and my clothiers )...i decided to pay 10$ higher and to rent an apartment...cos i also found through the internet a company TRAVELAZERBAIJAN and they offered me apartment in the centre with all conditions for 30$ per day...i contacted with them and they showed me it free of charge...it was really in the centre in 10 min from Fountain Square (i had not spent my money for traffic), had lavatory (i was able to take my bath and to wash my clothes there), kitchen with all plates and dishes (i was able to cook) and lovely room with TV and clean sofa and arm chairs...

The girls from that company also helped me for free to buy natural caviar in their local market by very low price (35$ for a can 113 gr) and some souvenirs for my relatives...

Of course, such prices were a year ago, hearing that there was inflation several times, might be the prices are a little higher now.

If you want, you can find their contacts by search in GOOGLE and YAHOO...

So...i liked Azerbaijan, hope you will also like it...

If you have any questions, write me or read my tips on Virtualtourist forum...

    Good luck!!!
