I am flying from Heathrow on Thai Air arriving at 6:10am and connecting with Thai Air to Yangon leaving at 8am. Do I have to go through immigration in Bangkok or do I simply go from one Thai Air gate to another without leaving the secure area? I sure hope it is the latter.
Another question re transiting in Bangkok

Thai Air (unlike Air Asia) will transfer your luggage, you don't need to go through immigration, just go to your next gate.
I expect they will be able to print a boarding pass for you at Heathrow for your Yangon flight, but if not you just need to stop at the transit desk (which is still inside the secure area).
Ask when you check in if they can check you through, if so they will probably give you a boarding pass OR you may have to go to the transfer desk at BKK( which is the other side of the airport
)
Have a great trip.
