Angkor Wat tour guide recommedations

We are taking my in laws to Siem Reap for a few days early next year and are looking for a tour guide or car and driver for a couple of days. I could organise one via our hotel but would really prefer a recommedation based on reasonably recent experience. Anyone have any recommendations and/or contact info?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Believe it or not, Tonkin Travel arranged a decent guide and driver for us when we were there. Sadly, I didn't get their contact information or I would share it with you.

We used Dara back in 2009 for 2.5 (basically 3 morning sessions and 2 afternoon sessions) days touring the temples and thought he was excellent! He was a great guide and he did a good job recommending an itinerary for us and was flexible with what we wanted to do. He speaks English pretty well (I'm sure it's even better 5 years late), is very knowledgeable about the area and the country's history, and we enjoyed learning about his own background growing up in Cambodia.

It seems you have one good contact, but if you would like another, I highly recommend Sokna Lao. We first used his services about 10 years ago. We have hired him several other times and recommended him to others who have been very satisfied. He is knowledgeable, honest and an excellent driver. His personal email is [email protected]. He has a website that one of his clients set up for him, but I am not sure how well it is managed. It does have some pictures and testimonials. www.Cambodiabestdriver.com I believe his rates are still very good, and you can set whatever itinerary you wish. Hope this helps.
