Amanbagh/ Jaipur/ Agra/ OR Udaipur/ Bundi/ Pushkar
Hello,
We're planning a short trip to India with stops in Delhi and Mumbai for business and 4 additional days for pleasure in Rajasthan. Looking for some insight on where to spend these days. We have never been to this part of India.
Debating between:
Staying at Amanbagh (I know, we're splurging) with day trips to Jaipur and Agra and potentially Pushkar.
OR
Staying in Udaipur with day trips to Bundi/ Cittaurgarh and Puskar.
Thanks in advance!

Why spend $700/night for your hotel if you're going to spend most of each day in transit?

You could fly from DEL or Mumbai to the main city of your choice in Rajasthan.
How did you narrow it down to these two choices for a Rajasthan homebase?
I agree with Indianapearl's question. I wouldnt spend that kind of $$ even if i were NOT going on day trips. IF your desire is to get a taste of India, why choose Beluga caviar over a wonderful multicourse meal?

We drove from Udaipur to Chittorgarh last fall. It takes about three hours. The fort is the only attraction and it was the least interesting fort I saw in Rajasthan. If you stay in Udaipur and want a luxury hotel, there's the Lake Palace or the Udaivilas. You can take day trips into the Aravelli Hills (which are lovely in and of themselves) and can see Ranakpur and Khumbelgarh Fort (second largest defensive wall outside of the Great Wall). Much less driving. Udaipur itself is a beautiful city (as long as there is water in the lakes).
