Airline/Airfare for Singapore-Bali??
I have a trip scheduled to SIN next February and am contemplating a short beach vacation as a side trip. ;-)
Have been looking for airfare between DPS and SIN, and am getting either "multi-stop" from Garuda or "expensive" from SQ.
Does anyone know of a LCC who serves the two cities directly and reasonably cheaply.
I'm guessing it will only be for a 2 day stopover.
Thanks in advance!!

Dave, to be honest with you, I wouldn't go to Bali for 2 days. The beaches are only ok, but the fascinating andd accessible culture and warm people is what brings people back again and again. With a mere 2 days, I'd go to a nearby Malaysian beach.

You can take budget airlines to Phuket, there are plent of flights, Tiger Airways are cheap, but you probably will not find fares published until about 3 months ahead. Flight is scehduled for 1 hr 40 but mostly about 1 hr 25, that makes a short beach hop at a cheap fare.

Tip: If you are by chance using Singapore Airlines to get to Singapore ask them for an add on sector to Phuket and see what fare comes up, it might only be a small amount more than Singapore ( Singapore Airlines owns Silk Air and flight to Phuket operate under both Silk Air and Sinmgapore Airlines flight numbers - so you may be able to add that on to your Singapore fare at not much extra ).

Jetstar Asia flies from SIN to DPS. You have to go to their website to book.
They aren't the fanciest, but they are largely owned by Qantas, and not some fly-by-night shop.

We are going from Singapore to Bali in June on Singapore airlines. When we made our flight reservations, we had some flexibility so we were able to get pretty good fares - our flights, with taxes, came out to be about US$300 per person round trip - so not super cheap, but pretty good. The prices were as high as twice that on other days. We picked travel days to coincide with cheaper fares.

My thanks to all for the prompt and helpful replies. I haven't considered Phuket to date, since I expect to do that on a later trip to BKK, but I also understand that perhaps Bali is not the best for a 2 day stopover.
I will take a look at some Malaysian beaches as Kathie suggested and come back for more questions.
Again, my thanks!
