Advice on itinerary needed for Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam in June
We came up with an itinerary for our trip in June based on postings on the forum. Wanted a mix of culture, shopping, snorkeling, swimming, & eating. We still have a few questions...
* Is 4 nts too much time in Hoi An- We thought we'd use it as a base because the food is supposed to be good (is it that good??) & we want to get fitted with a tailor. Is it difficult to go to Hue & beaches from here? How much is it to hire a driver for those days or what has been your experience with the on/ off buses? Do we fly to Danang to get to Hoi An?
* Been to Ko Samui, but maybe stay somewhere besides Chaweng. What's Ko Samet like? Where do you recommend for the gulf side (avoiding monsoons in June) Want beach that is pretty to snorkel, swim & relax. Restrooms, food nearby is ideal, but without hawkers on the beach. Does this exist??
Been telling hubby how gorgeous the beaches are & don't want to disappoint!
Our itinerary:
3 nts in Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat
3 nts in Saigon- nightlife, shopping, sightseeing
4 nts in Hoi An - day at beach, daytrip to Hue- limestones, clothes tailor, what else can we do here?
2 nts in Bangkok- nightlife, shopping, floating market (been here before, but hubby hasn't)
4 nts in Ko Samet or Ko Samui-

I agree, I'd rather spend time in Hanoi rather than HCMC. But - I think three days really isn't enough time for Hanoi, I'd add a day at least. Also, I think you have too much time in Hoi An. If you want tailoring, you'll need that much time. But you'll get better quality tailoring in Bangkok. You'd have to move days to Bangkok to do that.

Are you flying from Danang to Hue and back in one day? Otherwise, I don't see how you can do a day trip there. Even then, you wouldn't see much. IMO you need at least two days to see the sights of Hue. OTOH 4 days in Hoi An is a bit much, for me.
