Accommodation Hat Yai

Hi,

Can anyone recommend any accommodation in Hat Yai. Our plane has been delayed by 8 hours and instead of staying in Pak Bara we will have to stay in Hat Yai. Is it easy to get transport from Hat Yai the next morning to the ferries at Pak Bara and how much should they cost.

Thanx

Geoff

hi was just there last weekend...and you can either stay at the novotel central for about 55.00 usd per night...there are no other choices except for thai hotels which i am not very familar with...as for the ferries i am not sure as well because we went on a speed boat...happy travels...

Hi luv2cook2
How much was your speedboat? we are going to Koh Lipe? How did you organise it? Seeing your name, can you recommend any Thai cooking courses in Bangkok, Phuket or down south?

TD Resident & CK resident hotels right near bus station are clean & great value at 500 baht & 450 baht respectively. VL Hotel near railway station is around 800 baht and around a 2star business hotel. Good luck!

I forgot Laem Set Inn right near Cathay Guesthouse around 500 metres from railway station for around 500 baht. Ask someone for directions. This hotel is clean, has cable & hotwater and can help with any travel arrangements. Great choice!

Novotel is about the best, should be just on USD 43 for a double including tax, service and good Novotel syle breakfast

http://www.r24.org/beachsiam.com/nst/sukhontha/details/

The JB is an OK alternative if Novotel is full, about USD 38, I much prefer the Novotel but the JB is 'ok' 3 star

If you want cheaper 3 star the VL should be about THB 800-900 a night range though have not stayed. The central should be about the same. I would go for Novotel or JB.

Your hotel can sor transport for you easily, it depends what budget you are on, you can bargain around for car and drivers, but if you arrange thru your hotel might cost a bit more but it would be 'well organised' but I don't know what budget range you are traveling on.
