In a mere 6 days, you cannot see all of those places. Avoid any company that says you can! With six days, spend it all in/around Hanoi. I wouldn't even go to Halong Bay.

You could take a 2-3 day driving tour to Ninh Binh and Mai Chau area and spend the rest of the time in Hanoi.

6 days is to short isn't it?

If I wish to cover hanoi and Halong bay or hanoi and Sapa within 6 days is that enough. I do not want to spend all 6 days just in hanoi

Thanks

You need take the travelling time to Sapa and Hanoi into account in making your plans. Bank on spending 5-6 hours on a minibus travelling to and from Halong. It is possible to do spend one night on the bay but hardly worth the effort given the time involved Most people will spend 2.

Sapa requires an overnight train journey and really needs a minimum of two nights, preferably three. To make it worth while. This doesn't leave a whole lot of time for Hanoi..

It can be done and If you are happy just ticking the boxes and not seeing only the bare minimum. go ahead but do so in the knowledge that you will be spending a lot of time in transit through not very interesting places. I wouldn't do it, but its your vacation!

I spent a week in Hanoi, with a day trip to the Perfume Pagoda. There is plenty to keep you interested in Hanoi for a week.

Personally, I wouldn't want to spend the better part of two days of my trip on a boring drive to and from Halong Bay, but it is up to you. Lots of people complain about the numbers of people/boats and the quantity of trash in the water at Halong Bay, so if your image of it is a pristine place away from it all, you will be sorely disappointed.

Sapa requires two overnight train rides to get there and away. You could do the trip, but you would see none of Hanoi, it would just be a trip to Sapa. Up to you.

You can visit Hanoi and one other stop comfortably, in my opinion. You no longer have to take train to Sapa--if you prefer a faster and more flexible way (not tied in with specific train times), there is a relatively new highway (the one that goes from Hanoi and passes by the airport) that gets you there more quickly.
Or take an overnight trip on a ship on Ha Long or nearby Bai Tu Long Bay

Thank you everyone for your so kind recommendation.

I got an suggestion which I am quite interested in with an online agent from Singapore .

They recommend me to visit Halong bay 3 days 2 nights ( 1 night on boat and I night at Bugalow in catba island )

which cruise you recommend ? I heard that there are 3 bays ( Halong bay and Bai Tu Long bay and Lan Ha bay ) which cruise bring you to visit all 3 those bays

Have anyone stay in bugalow . This is quite new with me ?

I skip Sapa this time because I do more research and found that Hanoi is great for me - I love to see pagoda and temple ( my wife love shopping ).
Sorry for too much question !

Thanks all

Why would you book a trip to VN with a Singapore agent? Book with a local agent in VN. You'll pay less than you will using a foreign agent.

Do you want to spend half the time you have for Halong Bay? I wouldn't but you might. The reviews I've read of staying on Cat Ba have been fairly negative. Some people want to spend two nights on a junk on one the of the bays, and if Halong Bay is your top priority, that might be a good option for you. But stop and think about what draws you to VN.
