5 days in kabi, thailand

I will be taking a trip to Kabi Thailand, but would also like to visit Aythaya and do an elephant safari. Can someone help me out in nowing where to go, or if the hotles in Kabi Beach will assist in bringing you to safaris, etc? Also, how is the scuba diving in Kabi? Safe?

Krabi, though beautiful, is not an area known for it's great elephant centers. You will be able to find a place where you can ride one, but don't count on it being a "safari" and don't count on the elephants and mahouts there being especially well treated...maybe it won't be so bad, but it likely won't be so good either.

For elephants, in Lampang is the Thai Elephant Conservation Center www.changthai.com and the Anantara Golden Triangle has a very good program too. www.helpingelephants.org and www.anantara.com. The Four Seasons Tented Camp is also very good, and is related to the Anantara. www.fourseasons.com

Ayuthaya is best visited as a day trip from Bangkok.

Everywhere in Thailand you have a number of ways to sightsee. Book a tour, book a private guide and driver, book only a driver, or go it on your own. All of these ways are easy.

Scuba conditions vary by season and location. The Similan Islands are reported to have some of the best though.

You might want to get a good guidebook to help you explore your options.
