I have vacation from July 29 to August 2nd. I am planning on traveling from Seoul. I wamt to see either Osaka or Davao because they were both recommended to me. Tickets to Japan are cheaper, but I think daily costs in the Philippines are cheaper. Considering weather and costs, which would be a better trip?

I like hiking and exploring. I also like seeing historical sights and experiencing new cultures. I feel like in either place I would find good food and many things to do. I might be traveling solo though (20some year old female),and I am not sure how the weather and costs will be and how easy it would be to get around.

Have not been to Davao, but Osaka has an excellent network of public transportation. It is a short train ride from Osaka to Himeji Castle, Nara, and Kyoto for daytrip options, all of which has historic sights such as castles, palaces, temples and shrines. You can't go wrong with Osaka. Both will be hot in the summer, and I assume Davao more so because of where it is geographically.

What is your lodging budget? My guess is that lodging in Osaka would be double the cost of Davao.
