Do they have 4x4's to hire presumably you mean? According this site, there are some available: http://www.driverabroad.com/countries/driving-in-asia/laos/
Contact a local agent in Loas. There are 4wd vehicles in Laos, I doubt that you can self-drive in Laos. What kind of accessories are you thinking of?
No I dont mean to hire. I was meaning places that sell 4wd accessories, I ask as I can find any on line, and we are under taking a trade trip to Asia, and will be driving around Laos in my own car..
juddy,
I think it will depend on the type of vehicle you have as the most common 4wd are Japanese pickup trucks type. Your best bet will be to stock up on parts in Bangkok.
As there are many 4WDs in Lao, there are, of course, many accessories. What you can get in Bangkok you can get in Vientiane as well.
By the way, of course you can get self drive in Lao. I wish people would not post erroneous information.
THere is a shop claiming to have ARB accessories right in the middle of the tourist area on a Rue going up to the river bank. It's next to the Patisserie "Croissant D'Or".
They don't ook up to much but they might point you in the right direction.
THeir is a Landrover Importer at Sihom. I suspect that they may have several good 4X4 shops around Vientiane.
This is on the Ironman site....looks like a shop to me.

If you need ARB stuff PM me....I have contacts in Thailand!
Laos doesn't have a protected home motor industry so the range of 4X4 vehicles is much wider than that available in Thailand - lots of interesting stuff and of course the ubiquitous UN and other aid organisation Landcruisers, all of which need parts and accessories.
