Hi,
On our return back home from Thailand, we have ~22 hours in Bangkok. Our flight from Siem Reap gets in at 2:30 pm-ish and our flight to SFO is at 12:30 pm the next day.
Firstly, just wondering what suggestions you have for us to do on this one last day in Bangkok (we'll have visited it for 3 days at the start of our trip).
Also, whats a good hotel to stay at? Something thats less than $100 would be nice.
Thanks!
-Rahul

Any recommendations, anyone?
It depends on what you've done in your first three days there. I like to relax before my long trip home on my last day. I'd suggest choosing a hotel where you'll enjoy relaxing. I often get a massge the evening before my flight out the next day. So, perhaps a lovely dinner, a spa visit, and perhaps some last minute shopping.
Thanks Kathie.
Do you know how long it takes from the Royal Orchid Sheraton to the new airport on a weekday in the morning and afternoons? If its not that bad, I can just use some points to stay there and give my wife a chance to do some shopping if she wants.
Thanks
Rahul
We were at the Royal Orchid in November. None of our four trips to/from the airport took more than 30 minutes. I'd probably allow 45 minutes, but the expressways make the trip shorter than to/from the old airport.
The Royal Orchid has a really lovely pool area, off to the side of the hotel in a nicely landscaped garden.
I would allow an hour from the ROS. Sometimes the traffic can back up on the way to the expressway.
The garden pool (there are two pools) is really relaxing. A perfect place to smoke a cigar.
Hi!
So we'll be in Bangkok in a couple of hours and decided to visit the Erawan Shrine as soon as we drop our stuff at the hotel (ROS).
Can anyone suggest stuff to do after that? Tomorrow being the kings birthday, I'm sure there will be some fireworks as well and might be nice to view/photograph. Will this be possible from the ROS?
We get to the hotel 11 pm ish, so we have 3/4ths of the day.
Thanks!
The ROS is the perfect place to view fireworks. All of the river hotels will have fireworks shows. I don't know what time they will start check with the staff at the hotel.
