2 Days Busan & 1 Day Gyeongju

This is my first trip to Korea. I’m planning to do a 2 day Busan and 1 day Gyeongju Trip in late May. I’ll be taking the KTX from Seoul to Busan. I would very much appreciate if I could please get some feedback on my itinerary! I also have a few questions. Thank you for all your help.


1. Is it better to spend 2 nights in Busan and just do a day trip to Gyeongju?
2. If it’s better to do only 1 night in Busan and the other night in Gyeongju. Is it better to spend the night in Haeundae or Yeongdo-gu? I’m not sure how long it takes to get to Busan Station for the Korail.
3. Has anyone stayed at the Shillabang in Gyeongju? I wanted to stay at Sarangchae but apparently they are booked solid the last 2 wks of May. Can anyone make any recommendations for hanok stays? Something not too pricey please.
4. I’ve read some reviews that you can the Oryukdo Islands from Taejongdae or Haeundae Beach. Is this true?
5. Can anyone recommend any good ssambap places in Gyeongju?


This is the itinerary I have so far…

Day 1 or 2: Haeundae
1. Shinsegae – Centum City
2. Haeundae Market
- Lunch: Spicy Eel and street snacks
3. Dalmaji-Gil
4. Haeundae Beach
5. Seafood Dinner
6. Hot Spring / Massage
7. Gwangali & Bridge

Day 1 or 2: Yeongdo-gu
1. Taejongdae
- Pebble Beach
- Dinosaur Foot Prints
- White Lighthouse
- Female Divers
2. Downtown Nampodong /Gwangbokdong
3. Jagalchi Market

Day 3: Gyeongju
1. 20 min. Korail from Busan to Gyeon ju
2. Bulguksa Temple
3. Seokgulam Grotto
4. Anpaji Pond
5. Lunch: Ssambap
6. 2 hr. KTX back to Seoul
