12 Hours at the Bangkok Airport
My flight gets into Bangkok around noon from Phuket, and my flight out of Bangkok is not until around midnight. Does anyone have any recommendations for ten hours? Anything at the airport, go back into the city, day hotel, spa, etc.,

Assuming that you will check you luggage through to your final destination, if not just use the storage facility, I would definitely go into town.
If the weather is nice, like right now, here's a list of things to do:
Weekend JJ market - if you're coming during the weekend for a few hours.
See one or two of the famous landmark like the Grand Palace.
Go to mall and shop or eat.
You might like this suggestion - take a cab to Nonthaburi, Pak Kret pier, and take a ferry to explore Pak Kret island. After exploring the island take a 5 minute taxi ride to a nearby Healthland spa and enjoy a 2 hours massage before showering and returning to the airport.

I'd take a taxi into the city. I would not want to spend all that time at the airport!! There isn't anything "in that neighborhood" that would be of interest.
A spa treatment would be a good idea, and then a nice meal. Maybe a klong tour on the river for an hour or two?

Sorry a mistake above, I meant to write Ko Kret island not Pak Kret island.
Time wise, if your plane land on time it should take you less than 10 minutes to get out of the airport if you fly domestic from Phuket and don't have to wait for your luggage. 30 - 40 minutes taxi ride to Pak Kret. Find and hire a long tail boat which will guide you to the various landmarks around Ko Kret 10 minutes. 3 hours to tour and explore the island. 2.5 hours taxi ride and massage and shower. Taxi back to the airport 30 - 40 minutes. All together around a 7 hours trip leaving you plenty of time, at least 3 - 4 hours at the airport or you can stop somewhere for dinner.
