where do you carry batteries

where do you carry batteries
I'm leaving from the US to Paris and am bringing a small camera in my carry-on. The camera takes AA lithium batteries. I don't see anything on the airlines baggage info site about batteries. I am assuming I can carry them in my carryon? Are they safe to put in checked baggage? What about SD cards that go with the camera?

Returned from France last month, had two digital cameras. Xray not a problem for either the cameras internal memories or memory cards.
Batteries, your going to France, batteries are available. My batteries gave up not far from Gare de Lyon, my wife saw an electronics shop accross the street. My French is rusty, but I learned from my grandson (show and tell), the shopkeeper had what I needed and at a reasonable price. By the way, you can use Alkaline batteries, expect a shorter life span than Lithium.
Yes, you can carry-on just be reasonable with the number.
Anything that you can buy in the USA can be bought in France, pack lite and worry less.

On a flight from Split, Croatia to Frankfurt seven months ago, we encountered a sign at the airport that said, essentially NO BATTERIES in luggage. That was the first we'd heard of it and, of course, by then our luggage was checked onto our flight. When we arrived in Frankfurt, the electrical half of my make-up mirror was gone, along with the batteries in it. Only time we've ever encountered that.

Flying home from Marrakesh last month, the gate security agent doing bag searches (everyone's cabin baggage gets a full-on hand inspection) pulled four AA batteries from my bag and gave me a stern look:
"Not allowed!"
On the other hand, I had 12 AAs on my trip from JFK-Casa-FEZ and never attracted a blink.
