She JUST decided this weekend that she wants to come up North from Florida for Thanksgiving, so I started looking at airfares - and YIKES! Cheapest I can find is Delta, 11/20 returning 11/24 for $400.
Any thoughts or suggestions????

When should I buy a Thanksgiving-week ticket for Mom DAB-BDL?

Just got done pricing and buying Christmas air for my brother PBI-BOS. Your price was about the cheapest I could come up with on that route - so procrastination is not the only issue - these routes seem to have gone up a great deal.
I actually think that if you can find a ticket at that price I would buy it. I was looking for tickets for my daughter to come home from Florida to Chicago for Turkey Day back in August and even then Southwest was over $275 so I bought a Midwest Express ticket to Milwaukee for less. The prices of the tickets now are almost double. Start working on your December and spring break tickets NOW!!!
Hicynstalker, just read an article today that fares for Thanksgiving travel are up by at least 15% and that if one wants a ticket to buy it now as fares will probably even go higher closer to the holiday travel.
Ok, ticket is now purchased - thanks for the input! Mom (who is 80) will be dining with us at Thanksgiving!
