Not sure this is the best forum for the question, but hopefully someone here can help.
We have Continental FF miles we'd like to use for hotels. While fairly self-explanatory on their website, as in everything, there are likely some ins and outs and pros and cons that ya'll have expereienced, maybe potential issues to avoid.
I'd greatly appreciate and tips on best using these miles, or anything we need to avoid or carrefully watch. TIA!

Just make sure you know you have to be a CO Chase credit/debit card user to use your CO miles for hotels. If you are not a CO Chase card holder, you should transfer your miles over to United, and then book from united.com.
Thanks rkkwan. Yes we have that card.
I've read there are no discounts available, all are sold at rack rate.
I don't have a problem with that but whats been your experience if you need to adjust your dates, or cancel? Is it really difficult / impossible to have the miles added back?
Sorry, I have never used my CO for anything other than flights and upgrades.
What about American Airlines. Do you need to use their card to book hotels with AA miles?
what about the Singapore Airlinees, do we need any card to book hotels?

Book hotels with FF miles a lot with CO
I had actually cancelled my Chase Onepass CC
they still allowed me the miles
Recently 4 hotels in Italy in the last 2 weeks.
Really great value from 10000 FF to 12000 FF miles per night.
Works very well for 3 stars in Florence and Sorrento.
Also used Delta for a Grand Canal Suite at the Bauer in
Venice paid 40000 euro per night for a 1000 euro/nt suite
so that was a great deal on an awesome hotel.
Do this a lot works very well.
Do check reviews on hotels on TripAdvisor Booking.com
some of the lower end hotels can be a little dodgy
for best experience insuremytrip.com always wise generally.
Have fun,
oops should have been 40000 FF miles per nite
for a 1000 euro per nite suite sorry for typo.
