On our last two USAir international flights they were free if you had your own earbuds. If not, you had to pay for the earbuds. We knew to bring our own. The flights were to Spain and to Scotland.
They charge for earphones on US Airways? Most airlines flying internationally give you earphones,a blanket and pillow in coach without charging.
You get the pillow, blanket, and meals, but you pay for earphones unless you're flying first class. I, too, was surprised. I read somewhere, maybe here, that they charged, so I called them before our flight to Spain last year. They confirmed you provide your own or buy theirs. More and more airlines are charging for things we used to take for granted.
4 years ago they charged for earphones - prepared for that. I called and they confirmed movies are free
Wow. That is crazy. How much did they charge the earphones for?
movies were free - earphones were $5 I think - we took our own
Ridiculous!
what kind of experience people have during inflight movie. it is costly.
Don't know what you mean, hassel67.The movie doesn't cost a thing if you have your own earbuds or headset. And if you need to buy a set, they're yours to keep for future flilghts.
I got an e-mail this morning from U.S.Airways that in the coming months on some international flights they will offer economy class complimentary wine and headphones. I didn't read the section about the new perks for first class, etc., because it won't apply to us. This came just after I saw on the news that some airlines will be charging for previously complimentary things.
