Got a very official looking notice that looked like an IRS form...uh-oh. I opened it and found that it was an award notification for two round trip tickets anywhere in the US. Sounded to good to be true as they say but I called and I was told that if my wife and I attended a 60 minute greet and meet to consider using a travel agent, we would get the tickets with no strings attached. Has anyone received one of these or even better gone to one of these events? thanks.
US Airlines Award Notification...scam?

I got one of those about a month ago. I figured I'd give it a try for the possibilty of 2 free tixs. I signed up, but they later called and said my session was cancelled and they'd let me know when they would have additonal sessions. Havent heard from them since. I live in DC - where r u?
Delta has a warning on their web page about an e-mail scam.
Thanks -- I got mine thru the USPS & its not specific to Delta. Acording to the Delta homepage the email is specific to them.
We are west of Philadelphia. We are 'scheduled' for Saturday. I will post the 'experience' on this site...if they do not cancel us.
Yes, would appreciate it. They cancelled me about 10 days out. Maybe they are working their way up the EAst Coast...
Don't sign anything or give a credit card to anyone. Free is free, anything else may be one of those phony vacation/cruise scams that have a sevice fee but are never bookable or a time share pitch or a recurring "monthly club fee" on your credit card. Just saying, beware and be wary.
Maybe 15 years ago I got something like this in the mail.
OK, I didn't say it out loud.
Called them, they said it's all free, and I will get a prize, only I'll need 2 pieces of ID.
I said, OK, driver's license and passport, they said no, credit card and checkbook.
I said, kiss my bottom
I went it is a vacation club called dvi and evidently a bit of a pyramid scam...join for $7 to 10K and you get discounts [no air discounts] to various travel packages resorts etc. they are under investigation in NJ and DE and keep changing their names. Not sure how far I will get with the two RT tickets as 'lovely parting gifts'. Definitely not advised. They operate in DE under Serenity Travel. Look it up for more details.
thanks for reporting back. I have not yet heard back from them and its getting on a month now.
I just received one in the mail today. I live in SC and not on the coast. I am anxious to hear back from some of the replies as this IS too good to be true. Please let us know any new updates. thanks
Mom, it was a scam in April and it is still a scam. Participate at your own risk.
Anything that requires you to go to a meeting in order to collect a "prize" or "award" is a marketing ploy at best and a scam at worst.
They already have your address and if you respond in any way - email or phone -- they'll have that info too, in addition to the information that you are gullible.
Walk away.
We received the invite from Serenity Travel in DE. I realized that a free cruise with round trip airfare is too good to be true for just listening to a 90-minute talk. I've seen quite a few complaints on the internet about a scam - BUT - if we don't sign up for anything - don't give them any money - are the travel vouchers legitimate?
We got one of these recently. The notice had a logo that looked just like the US Airways logo but actually said US Airlines. It went straight into the recycling bin, although I thought about mailing it to US Airways.
Today I received a letter with a handwritten address. The letterhead was US Airlines, Fly the US Skies with no return address. It read "I am pleased to inform you that you have ""qualified"" (quotes mine) for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets.........
tickets are valid for travel anywhere in the Cont us from any major intl airport. We have attempted contacting you several times without success.....last attempt.....Call 866-740-8703
signed Laura Shane Vice President.
I have received two calls from Georgetown De. lately that I did not answer.
I sure don't trust this.
They are scammers probabling lookng to steal your identity.

lots of good info on these scammers
If something sounds to good to be true it usually is...
Avoid them like the Plague
above all give them NO personal info!
Good luck,
I received a suspicious letter today from US Airlines/Fly the US Skies....no return address on the handwritten envelope and no return address on the letter. I am in SC . It tells me that they have treied to contact me several times without sucess! I am qualified for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets......for travel anywhere in the Continental US from any major airport.
Well, is there anyone we should report this letter to....US Airlines?....or US Airways (as the logo looks much like theirs) or just throw it out since there is no return address.....but there is a telephone number to call.
Let me quickly put an end to this discussion.
There is no company that ownes or operates an airline called US Airlines. There are REAL airlines that have similar names like US Airways and Continental Airlines, but there is NO US Airlines. Look for US Airlines when trying to book a flight on ANY flight booking site or simply type in US Airline on Google and attempt to find their web page if you have any doubts about what I've reported here. Please, for your sake don't call this company. They are obviously try to take something from you.
I got the same "US Airlines" letter today in a hand-written and stamped envelope, "pleased to inform" me of 2 roundtrip tickets, and telling me to call 866-875-6174 before they give the prize to someone else.
Of course its some sort of scam. But, I am going to call tomorrow anyway and play along for awhile just to see where they try to take me. Why not have some fun and scam a scammer?
I did that once. They took the bait and it was fun while it lasted. When the person on the other end realized that they had been had they abruptly hung up.
Just got my USPS mail yesterday from these scammers. I live in SW Florida so they must really be making the rounds. A brief google search brought me here to confirm my suspicions. Thanks to everyone for sharing information on this company.
I recieved mine yeserday & my son (tryign to fly on SB) from DETROIT to FL wanted me to call, and as I typed in US AIR.....googles popped up SCAM & brought me here & saved us some time...yet caused him some heartache.....he was pretty exited thinking he could fly for free. Lessoned learned---if it looks to good to be true, it usually is!!!
Received the "US Airlines" mailing yesterday here in Wisconsin. I wonder if this is coming from the same company that keeps calling - its a woman with a British accent on a recording that says "This is an important message for " then a different voice says my husband's name, then the British voice says if that person is there, please press 1 to take the call. We just hang up, but I wonder if these two things are related.
I also received one of these letters but the Phone number is different. 1-866-992-0967.I live in Florida. There is NO airlines named US airlines and I also received it in a letter addressed with regular handwriting on it with no return address. They must thing we are stupid or something. I really hope no falls for this scam.
I just got mine today -- number is 866-348-1768. I live near Chicago...
I got the same thing here in southwest Florida about 2 weeks ago....into the wastebasket it went! (we can't put junk mail into our recycle containers -- only newspapers)
Got one in WI today. 1-866-653-5688. I too realized that there is no US Airlines. Called anyway to mess w/ them. British woman recording & then stuck on hold which sucked the fun out of it for me.
I received mine today and I am in MI. My number to call is 1-866-341-6530. I guess I won't be using this to fly somewhere that doesn't have snow.
Got The Letter Too But Oddly Eneough It Was A Different Vice President Not Laura Shane It Was Ann Roy....Huh Wonder How Many Vice Presidents Thy Go Thru. Even More Odd I Noticed The Letter In My Mailbox Monday Morning BEFORE The Mail For That Day Came..., When Did The Post Office Start Delivering On Sunday. My Suggestion Rip It Up, Shreed It, And Report Anyone Messing With Your Mailbox, Cause If Thy Are Not You Or The Postperson, ITS A FEDERAL CRIME!
We got ours today in a hand written envelope with no return address. It was from US Airlines and said we won 2 roundtrip airline tickets. The phone number was 1866-437-8134. The postmark was from Phoenix, AZ and we live in Pittsburgh, PA. Please post where your letter came from. IT'S A SCAM. DAH...
Got mine in AZ phone is 1.866.918.6519. Even got the reps name (probably fake) and extension. US Airlines / Fly the US Skies. VP Ann Roy. They wanted me to sit through a presentation by travelanddeals.com at a hotel near my house. BBB'd the website and started doing research- there's no such business. I believe it's a fake website. Be careful..
"And Report Anyone Messing With Your Mailbox, Cause If Thy Are Not You Or The Postperson, ITS A FEDERAL CRIME!"
Actually, if it is a scam (and it appears to be), give the envelope to the postmaster. They will be able to prosecute for mail fraud with evidence.
Just got one today in Columbus, OH. Number was 866-337-7935, Vice President was Jocelyn Hall. Also postmarked from Phoenix, no return address etc.
I got the same letter in central Florida today. From US airlines
Vice president Ann Roy.
Funny thing is it said to respond by March 16th and it is already the 21st LOL.
Into the recycle bin it goes.
Forgot to mention the phone number on the letter is 1-866-740-6252.
My 44 yr old son received this in the mail today dtd 3/14/2011. Since he seems to believe there is such a thing as a free lunch I promptly thre it in the trash can. US Airlines???. That was the giveaway. It should say US Airways if legit. Ms. Jocelyn Hall VP signed the letter.
What gets me is that the envelope appears to be hand addressed and stamped. Like all the others reported here, it is postmarked from Phoenix, AZ. The letter is dated March 14th; the envelope was postmarked March 17th, and I received it on March 21st. I'm supposed to respond no later than March 23rd to 1-866-995-7188. The VP who signed mine is listed as Jocelyn Hall. I found this thread pretty quickly by googling "Fly the US Skies," which sounded so peculiar that I knew it would come up. It's interesting that these folks are not claiming to be US Airways exactly. If this were on US Airways letterhead, I might have gotten my hopes up, but they killed any chance they had with this hokey tagline.
Mine appears to be slightly different than most reported here. Like everyone else's, it is from "US Airlines", however it is all typed, and looks extremely official, and thus, noted as immediately bogus. Mine isn't signed by any Vice President, simply, "Sincerely, Awards Department."
Phone number on mine is 866-575-8435. They sure waste a lot of phone numbers. I won't be calling, either.
My husband received this same letter today in the mail, postmarked from Phoenix, AZ. We live in Michigan. Phone number on his letter was 866-437-7729 and was signed by Jocelyn Hall. I'm sure there is some sort of investigation pending by now... just wish I knew where to report it!

Thanks to all for posting here! It confirmed my suspicions.
We won't waste our time with this.
If anyone whom received this letter cares to follow up on this matter, here is the link to the postal inspectors.
https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/
Maybe it's me, but I noticed the majority of the post are people just saying they received a letter. Instead of assuming it's a scam has anyone really went and checked it out?
I got one today. It came in a plain white envelope, hand-addressed in blue ink, no return address. Postmarked Phoenix Arizona. The notification is on a plain white sheet of paper with a pixelated looking logo for US Airlines and has the same text others have mentioned (2 tickets, $1400 value, claim or we'll give the voucher to the alternate.) The number to call is 1 866 437 7729. It's so very obviously not anything official from an airline that it's almost laughable to think that a scammer would expect anyone to fall for it, except that someone probably will. I reported it to the USPS.
I'm a realtor here in FL. I took a CE class in July 2010 called SAFETY. The instructor works for the National Assc. of Realtors and travels the country giving these classes. He informed us that scams such as this are widespread and growing. The primary reason they want to get you out of your home is so they can clean you out while you're away on their "free" little trip. If your neighbors ask them what they're doing, the thieves tell them you're getting a surprise home makeover...guess they got the idea from the TV show.
I came here 'cause we just got the same letter today. The font on the envelope looks handwritten but it's printer generated. NEVER go on a "free" trip...just isn't worth the loss.
I received one of these letters the other day. This one was dated March 28th.
After thinking it over for a short time I realized that this was some sort of scam.
My first thought was that I "had qualified" for the two roundtrip tickets when I don't fly but once or twice every five or so years.
In the letter it states that they had been trying to contact me without success. To me that was a joke.
I have noticed the other replies here about these letters.
Well this one had yet a different 1-866 number.
The number on my letter was 1-866-219-9971.
I guess when "Ma Bell" gets to many complaints about one phone they switch to another number that they already have lined up.
The person who signed my letter was Charlene James another of there many Vice Presidents.
Wonder if Charlene is the Vice President in charge of sending out letters in the month of March.
I must be really lucky as I have received a second letter, this one was dated April 4th, from U.S. Airlines telling me that I have qualified for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets anywhere in the Continental U.S..
The must reply by date on this one is April 13th, 2011.
Guess that means that I have four roundtrip airline tickets coming to me.
Charlene James is again the Vice President of US Airlines and the 1-866 number is on the letter is the same as the first letter I received.
Looking at both letters, I am noticing that they are using a 9 day suspense or time limit for a reply to these letters.
However I am no handwritting expert but I can tell that two different people signed the letters.
Now both letters had codes at the bottom of them.
My first letter had the code CK-69720
The second letter had the code CM-17899
At the rate that I have been receiving these letters, I guess I am due to get another letter around April 15th.
My letters have been sent from Phoenix AZ
I am considering taking both letters to the Post Office and having them look into this.
The SCAM is alive and well. I received the described letter today with a reply deadline of 4/13, also mailed from Phoenix, AZ. I did a search for info and found this site. Thank goodness I did. Even though the letter seemed phony (Airlines instead of Airways) I was very tempted to reply. I have saved time and energy. Thanks to all of you who have written in detail about this letter.
I live in Michigan. Recvd same type of letter dtd 4-4; "signed" by a Charlene James. Obvious scam; toll-free number 866-216-2461 can't be traced using regular reverse phone directories (first clue) or nationwide directory of toll-free listings (2nd clue). No address on "letterhead", if you can call it that. Will be taking straight to my local po branch where I know the manager who will eagerly forward to the mail fraud dept.
Just got mine in the mail yesterday. It is postmarked Oklanoma City, OK. There is no return address. No signature, just says,"Sincerely, Awards Department." Phone number listed is 1-866-216-2460. Like the others, it says US Airlines. I was supposed to claim my two tickets by April 20th, 2011. Thought I would check it out after reading all the above comments. I called the number (first called *67 using a land line to hide my phone number). They said this was just a way to get people to check out a certain travel agency. They wanted me to come in and take a tour. Then the young woman said she had to be sure I "qualified." She began asking questions wanting to know if I was between 18 and 72, income at least $40,000, and an email address. When I told her that this site had a bunch of comments saying that they were a scam, she said, "Oh, my sister did it and had no problem." Sure. I told her no thanks to this scam. By the way, I am in Atlanta, so I guess they are really making the rounds. I'm taking my notice to the Postmaster to report as mail fraud.
THIS IS A SCAM. It is not US Air - it is US Airlines. They want you to PAY for taxes, fees. And make money. DO NOT GO to these sessions. This is a fraud
Don't do it. It's bogus. It is from a fake Airlines - US Airlines - the real one is US AIR!
Yippee! I got mine, but it is a postcard, not a letter. I am selected to receive a (bold type) "Complementary 8 Day/7-Night Cruise for 2 with an outside cabin, leaving from any major port in the U.S., including " (type face changes and print line a bit off) "NEW YORK, NY!" And that's not all, because if I call within 48 hours (how can they tell when I get the postcard?) I will also receive as a bonus 2 roundtrip airfares "Leaving from or Going to Any Major Airport in the Continental U.S.!!" (They sure do have a way with punctuation.) (And don't round trips go both to and from?)
The card has a picture of a Carnival cruise line ship and tha Carnival logo and the inevitable "US Airlines" logo with a US flag, but "US Airlines" is preceded with a small type "Fly a". (Does "Fly a US Airlines" make a gramatical English sentence?)
There is an asterisk, referring to "certain restrictions" (natch!) a disclaimer that they are not sponsored or affiliated with carnival, and that "Deposits, reservation fees, processing fees, port charges, and taxes are the responsibility of the recipient." (A deposit on a free trip?)
There is no indication of the sender's name, address, etc., just an 800 number: 1-800-592-6510.
I think I'll pass, but just maybe I'll call and see how far I can string them along without giving any useful information. It could be a hoot!
got the us airlines letter 2 round trip tickets free call 1 866 271 1171 obvious scam hand written envelope no return address mailed from Phoenix Az
Handwritten on plain envelope
letterhead has no address and odd logo
date has "th' in it-what up wid dat??
Closure is: Regards,
Angela King is the Vice President of US Airlines? Whaaaa?
SCAM!!!
I got the same thing and called to set an appointment. My daughter researched this and it is a scam. I would like to know if anyone ever went to the meeting and what happened. They told me I would get 2 free tickets and to bring my drivers license and 1 credit card, but would not have to use my credit card. They said the taxes on the free tickets would be $46 each.
I think they are scamming older people and would like to know where to report them.
Hello everyone!! I received a letter today from US Airlines. I called the number, as I have noticed in previous posts that the number changes and then name of the Vice Pres changes, only to talk to a guy who told me this was for a travel company in my area to get there name out there. I told him I was reading about his company online and noticed that every state has a different VP. He confirmed that his VP was Angela King. I told him my letter was signed by Marcia Oneal. The number I called was 866-619-4762. He informed me that she was a VP as well. How many VPS can an airline have???? I'm taking the letter to the Post Office tomorrow. Don't bother calling the number, just take it to the PO.
I received the ad and called the number. Said it was a marketing campaign for a travel agency. No one here has posted how the scam works, or has verified it as a scam. I will let you know after the presentation what happens. They said light snacks, it is probably worth a soda and cookie at least.
I received something similar.
Postmarked 4.26.11 from Phoenix, AZ, hand written address in blue ink and no return address.
Fake looking logo, called US AIRLINES (not Airways). Letter with no return address and informed I won 2 roundtrip airline tickets and to call right away 1-866-930-5377 from VP Marcia Oneal.
Total scam, and how can I report this?
I am disturbed they even have my address!!
<Instead of assuming it's a scam has anyone really went and checked it out?>
NO because it IS a scam. No one is going to give you two free airline tickets out of the blue with no strings attached.
My retired mother received one in the mail this week in Central Florida. I was suspicious so I helped her call the number. First clue was that they did not want to talk to me, they would only talk to her, and advised me that if I came to the "event" with her that I would have to remain outside.
The "Offer" extended was for two tickets for "up to" 1400.00 but that you would have to pay "fees and "taxes" on the tickets. She would have to sit through a "short" (later defined as at least ninety minutes) presentation where refreshments would be served. The presentation was for a "travel membership" The problem with a company like this, is that they will collect money from the target for a "membership" which will give them discounts. Sometimes these companies do not last very long and leave the purchaser holding the bag.
I agree with the majority of posters here, I believe this is a targeted mailing to an older person, the lack of a return address, the handwritten envelope, the "logo" for a non existant company, and a "Vice President" signature doesn't add up if you really look at the letter. To someone who does not read this closely, however, you could be led down a garden path. As additional info, in the State of Florida at least, there is no "marcia", "margaret" or other close name "Oneal" who is the vice president of anything. When I called the number, the name of the "company" I was given was Travel and Deals in Orlando. There is no Travel and Deals listed as a Florida Corporation either... so...
Please, if you get this letter... shred...
(SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT) Yippie!! Got my very official "URGENT" stamped voucher here in Georgia stating I also have (2) two round trip US Airline tickets worth up to $1400.00 to anywhere in the continental US waiting on me. All I have to do is call 1-866-769-0470 and reference my claim number Cq-33052. The white letter looks more like an official IRS form with 2011 stamped on the outside. Very small print on the front states this is "NOT A GOVERNMENT DOCUMENT". Ours is from Oklahoma City, OK. The letter has what looks like a boarding pass and a small note reading "This is not a time share or land sales offer" which really means it must be a time share or land sale offer. No signatures or personal contact names are listed. Just the toll free number. I am trying to decide where we want to travel. Can't wait. NOT NOT NOT!!!!! Don't fall for this scam.
The "hand printed" addresses are likely just mechanically printed to appear hand printed. You can look for indents from higher pressure. This can also be faked but would be to expensive to be worth it for scammers or most marketing.
Shawn in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, I received this same official letter today, hand written and signed. Of course this is a scam !!! It's just like the free gas, free cruises, etc. Why would anyone give these things for free> C"mon people,we are smarter than this. if your looking for a current info, here you go: US Airlines, Angela King "Vice President" lol, # 1-866-254-0005, WE SHOULD ALL CALL AND SCAM THE SCAMMERS!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
I received one of these yesterday (Live in California). “US Airlines” Complementary 8Day/7- NMight Cruise for 2 with an outside cabin. Call within 48 Hours and you will receive as a bonus 2 round trip airfares leaving from or going to any major airport in the US!!
Haxter’s comment made me laugh. I am thinking about calling and pretending that I am interested. Too funny.
Glad I read all of your
I also received a letter today, May 6 (Live in Nebraska) with the usual informaton. It was signed by Marcia Oneal, Vice President. I showed it to my daughter and we both agreed it had to be a scam.......BUT, I had to play along. I called the number (866-219-9167) and was connected to "James" at extention 51. He had me read him my confirmation number (CQ-91459) and then explained that I had been selected to receive two round trip airline tickets to anywhere in the continential United States IF we met certain qualifications. I was between the age of 26 and 72, married or living with another, and had an annual income of over $50,000. My wife and I were invited to tour a travel agency in Lincoln, Nebraska and see what we thought of it. I was given a physical address and then asked if we wanted to make an appointment. I began to ask some questions. I asked him who he worked for. He got a little flustered and then told me he worked for a third party who was trying to arrange new customers for the travel agency. I asked why, if they were local, they didn't just call themselves? I also asked if the were local why the envelope was post marked in Phoenix, AZ. His answers began to be very vague and then he began to answer my questions with questions. I finally told him that I wasn't interested and hung up. I would be very interested to know what business is located at the address he gave me. Always remember....IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE...IT IS!!
scam still going on got a letter today from angela king at 1-866-218-8449. will be giving letter to us post office on monday.
First, I am not saying this is not a scam. However, have any of you ever gone to a timeshare presentation? The TOO good to be true difference is giving a $100 gift in the hopes of selling a $10,000 timeshare at 9.5% intereset. Although over 20 years of vacationing this is a good deal there is nothing wrong with declining the offer and taking the gift. In Orlando the gift is 2 tickets to Disney, Seaworld, or another park. In Pigeon Forge/Seveierville, TN the gift is 2 free hotel stay and $50 dinner gift card, Dollywood Tickets, or tickets to another attraction. AGAIN, I want to emphasize that I do not know if this particulair lure is a scam but I do want to inform people about marketing and jumping to conclusions.
More than likely the 2 free ticket voucher is a wholesale special that still requires taxes and booking fees. These can be bought numerous places for around $75 for a pair (when buying 500+ vouchers) and result in around $150 in booking fees and taxes. The total for 2 people to fly this way is around $225. Although there may be black out dates this is still an inexpensive way to fly if you are flexible with your trip planning. There is a saying as old as, "If it is too good to be true it probably is" and that saying is, "It takes money to make money!" In marketing it is often more effective to give a gift of great perceived value in order to entice somebody to listen to a sales pitch to sell them their product.
I want to reiterate, I do not know if this is a scam, I am attending an event in a few weeks and I will report back. However, I still thought it would be worth bringing some education into a discussion with many foredrawn conclusions. By the way to the person who posted abut not having a BBB file, there are only 2 ways to gain a BBB file. First, you can join the BBB in your region if you are a "supporter" like in the old "protection" racket they will list you as in good standing once you join but can still be tarnished by poor business tactics. The second way is through someone reporting an incident on the company in question. Just because Travel and Deals does not have a BBB record does not mean they are not a legitimate company, in the state of Florida check sunbiz.org and check under ficticious names as well as corporations.
Lastly, and I will get off my soap box. As in timeshares I would expect the smae to be true of this "seminar" (or I will leave) concerning the credit card. In timeshares all you do is show them you have acredit card with your name, they do not copy, swipe, or imprint this card. It is a closing tactic so that you cannot make the excuse that you did not bring money. The only downside to this type of offer is the "seminar" it will be a high pressure guilty closing technique where you will feel that you must purchase or you will not be able to leave. The best way to handle this, if you want the airlines voucher or any other free gift for a "seminar", is to state that you have been there for the aloted ammount of time and that you are not interested, don't lie or make an excuse just state you are not interested, and ask for your gift. At this point is where you will need to turn on the high pressure, if they do not aquiesce then state LOUDLY that you are calling the police to file a report of a scam. However, you may be interested in their plan and if you have done your research before attending you will know if you are interested or not.
Either way, you should always be careful with every company until you know them, not just companies that give away prizes to gain your interest, this is a business practice that has been used since the begining of marketing.
Received mine today : VP Marcia Oneal, 866 974-0241; 2 roundtrip airline tickets. I'm in Rhode Island. Sent from Phoenix, with no return address, from "US Airlines" with a clip art logo.
Yeah, I'm part of the club! Got my US Airlines mail for 2 free tickets! Went straight in the circle file.
Instead of complaining or having fun with this, can't we do something to either arrest them or fine them or something? I got an invite recently & called and the guy on the phone was a professional in making you believe it's all ok. of course I am not going, but really want to rein this in. Any suggestions would be most welcome
I,too, got a hand-addressed letter, with my name misspelled, with no return address. It was from "US Airlines", no address, telling me I had won two round-trip tickets. When I called the number, the man answered, "Travel Rewards". He could not tell me the address of the company he worked for, and said I must be pretty high up in my own company if I knew my own company's address. He told me that it was a travel reward program for all 12 major airlines, but would not tell me the address of the building he was working in.
The guy was hostile and sarcastic.
It's a scam.
Received a ltr today. It looks generic. Didn't see the envelope before it was opened but the letter only has US Airlines with a logo of something on the top. No address of where it came from. We "qualified" for 2 roundtrip tkts valuing up to $1400.00 Call 1-866-291-3488.
I won't bother. Vice President Janelle Kelly can wait for someone else to call.
I received it today. Postmarked 5/23/2011 from Phoenix AZ. Text same as many above ("award is tup to $1,400.00") Different phone number though: 1-866-981-5797. My guess is they keep changing the phone number so that the search engines don't find it. Signature is from "Candice Bray", Vice President. On the bottom is a code: CU-92143.
Got mine today. Another phone number yet. Came in a handwritten envelope, postmarked Phoenix, AZ.
I just received mine in the mail. Again hand written envelope, 2 free round trip airline tickets. Call back number 866-981-5686 and hand signed by Candice Bray, vice president. I decided before calling I should check it out. Glad I did. Thanks for all this talk, it is one way to shut down the scammers.
Got my FINAL NOTICE yesterday in WI from US Airlines (not a real company). This was mailed to me Presorted from Oklahoma City, OK, on permit number 324. This is an obvious scam, and I didn't even try to call the number (866-291-0672).
First red flag...presorted mail for an award
Second red flag...2 free airline tickets up to $1400..yeah right!
Folks, use common sense. NOBODY wants to give you 2 "free" tickets. They obviously want something.
Have any of you taken the time to ask this company questions or attended this "tour"?
I live in Tampa, i received a letter and decided to call and find out about it. I would never give anyone any of my personal information (credit card number, ss # etc.) you're an idiot if you do. I am sure there are many scams, I have not yet been a victim because I am very cautious. Anyways I called them, found out about it, turns out "U.S. Airlines" is the companies trademark, it means they work with all United States Airlines. I asked more questions, set up an appointment, I attended. They did not ask for any personal information (I would have walked out if they had asked me to give them that info or sign anything). They did check my identifications, and yes it was a long presentation, but it was worth it because I did receive the two round trip airline tickets. I have not yet used them, I've had the voucher for a little more over a month. They actually give you a voucher, I have a year to use it so i'm not in a hurry. If you receive anything like this and think it's a scam, definitely be cautious about it. Ask a lot of questions. The scams, are usually the ones that ask for you credit card number or social security or any personal information that might put your identity at risk.
oh by the way, i have to pay the taxes on those tickets, which I think is fine.
I got the same letter in north, GA. Envelope was hand written and stamped with NO return address, which I thought was an alarm for the USPS. It was mailed from Phoenix, AZ. Letterhead inside was from US Airlines, but again no return address like a legit company would have.
Mine was worded the same about 2 free RT tickets valued at $1400. And the phone number to call is 1-866-997-4489 and was signed handwritten by Phyllis Neal Vice President.
I won't be responding to this scam.
GI_Jose is a uniposter, just joined to make his only posting. There is no description of who is to honor the voucher or for which airlines it could work, nor any restrictions. I remain very sceptical.
Received my letter today. There was no logo or return address on the envelope or in the letter. The letter informed me that I qualified for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets to travel anywhere in the continental U.S.. It claimed that they have tried to contact me several times without success. It also stated that if they did not hear from me soon they may need to issue the ticket vouchers to the alternate. A person by the name of Phyllis Neal, Vice President signed the letter. I live in FL and intend to report this to Pam Bondi the FL Attorney General. Here is the link for other Floridian who want to do the same, http://myfloridalegal.com/
Just opened a piece of mail that looked similar to a government check or a pay stub. Opened it up and it was a "check" for $1400 for two round-trip tickets that I had to used before June 15, 2011 (too bad that date has past.) I live in Central Florida. Did a Google search for it and the results took me here. Thanks for confirming yet another scam.
My dad got this letter today on june 18th the letter is marked june 13th 2011 and has no return address, it is from the company U.S. Airlines which i have been doing some studying and it's fake the phone number is 866-982-7808
the vp is Phyllis Neal how many vps are there? i live near chicago this thing is defentaly a scam!
Received notice in snailmail today that I must respond this week to receive 2 free roundtrip airline tickets. Reverse phone number says it is a cell phone--not usual for a business to call from. Also suspect I'll have to buy something to get the possible "free" flights. Not going to do anything except report it as a scam. Beware!
Got my "award" notification in the mail today. Same handwritten-looking envelope. No return address, this one with a stamp, not pre-sorted. No company information on the bottom of the letter; another Vice President (Jessica Clay) out of the bottom-less pool of vice presidents - all females; another (probably fake) tel. # (866 966 2769); but the same question: why would anyone offer you "up to $1400" out of the blue. None of those that have been blessed by these offers have reported to have entered any sweepstake for two free tickets
Add Janelle Kelly 1-866-769-0889 to your list of Vice Presidents. I received US Airline, no return address envelope and then a few days later my husband received one. It is a scam and it makes me mad.
I received my scam letter today as well. I just wanted to let everyone know that ANYTHING that comes bulk rate or presorted postage is usually JUNK mail. If you really won something, it would come with a first class postage on it, or make you sign to receive the letter. I work for the post office and i see everyday how everyone receives the same letters, but they think that they are the only ones who did..if there is no first class stamp or first class metered stamp...throw it out..it's garbage. It's also considered to be advertising.
It's amazing that this discussion has gone on so long. I found it using Google because I received a card similar to the others', but no VP listed and a different phone number (800-313-1263). I assumed it was a sales pitch but it specifically states that it's not a timeshare or land sale offer, and the juxtaposition of the Carnival and "US Airlines" logos made it seem worth checking out. I didn't catch that it wasn't US Airways until reading this thread. The user has to pay port charges, taxes, etc., and that might be worth sitting through a sales pitch for a legitimate cruise with an outside cabin and free flight on a well-inspected plane. When I called the number all the fees and taxes were $299 per person. Although it might be worth it if it's legit, my sense is that there will be excuses made for not delivering the cruise and flight if one fails to purchase something expensive, so I didn't do it.
I received an award notification from US Airlines. It was not a letter but was a document you had to open on 3 sides with a document that looked like a check (they call it a travel check) for $1,400.00. It also says "We have attempted contacting you on several occasions. This will be your last chance to respond." It also says "This is not a timeshare or land sales offer." The telephone # is 866-216-4199 which is supposed to be a landline out of Missouri. I live in Central Florida. In my younger days I foolishly got sucked into one of these award deals and after spending $100, found out there was fee after fee after fee. I've learned my lesson and do not respond to these type of offers.
My wife received one of these letters today. We live in Tempe, AZ. The reason they are postmarked Phoenix, AZ is because that is the location of the corporate offices for US Airways. We are frequent flyer members of U.S. Airways and I thought these scammers must have got her name from that airline. Any fool around here knows that the name of the airline is not U.S. Airlines! Very suspicious letter: no return address on the envelope or the letter. They sure must have a lot of vice presidents and phone numbers!
Just as BJG55 I also live in Central Fl and received the same type of document with the same wording, phne number and for the same amount. I was certain it was probably a scam, (If it's too good to be true - it probably is) - but I binged it and found this site. Interesting how many versions of this scam there!
I live in SW Florida, and my father received an identical letter in the mail. It looks very official and VERY legitimate. At the top was "US Airlines," at the bottom was signed by the "Awards Department" with a 1-866 number and a message identical to everything everyone's been saying on this page (1400 dollar value, we've been trying to contact you, last attempt, claim number, etc). It was not in a handwritten envelope, it was all printed, very official, from Oklahoma City, OK (no return address). After looking it up online I came to this page and decided to make an account and share what I found in research.
We were told that we had to attend a 90 minute presentation by the company "Travel and Deals" in order to receive the award. Before talking to me, my father scheduled the appointment, and all was good. Now the research:
US Airlines is not a real company, as mentioned before, there is a US Airways and a United Airlines, but there is NO US AIRLINES.
We were directed to the "Travel and Deals" website ( http://www.travelanddeals.com ). I found another website much like it, the resemblance is a bit scary:
http://www.travelanddiscount.net
BBB has no record of "Travel and Discount" however they do have record of Travel and Deals which is linked to Travel and Discounts. I urge you to look up Travel and Deals on bbb.
If you look up "US Airlines" at bbb.org, there is an address in Sarasota, FL.
If you look up "Travel and Deals," the linked account to "Travel and Discount" has an IDENTICAL address to that of "US Airlines" in Sarasota, FL. Coincidence?
I STRONGLY urge you to look at this BBB report for "Travel Deals"
http://www.bbb.org/new-jersey/business-reviews/travel-clubs/travel-deals-in-marlton-nj-90089624
As of July 18th 2011, "Daryl T. Turner, 39, of Marlton, was arrested at his home and was charged with second-degree theft by deception."
"On May 10, 2011, BBB contacted Travel Deals regarding its direct mail postcard offering the following:
- Complimentary 8 Day/7-Night Cruise for 2 with an outside cabin, leaving from any major port in the U.S., including New York City
- Also receive as a bonus 2 Roundtrip Airfares Leaving from or Going to Any Major Airport in the Continental U.S.!!
- Complimentary*
- Use of the logos of Carnival and US Airlines "
My thoughts:
Going to this presentation will be a waste of time. They will most likely urge you to register for a membership with a monthly payment, and they will most likely do all communication through email (which is very deceptive).
We canceled our appointment after doing this research.
I called the number again to ask for information about their company, and i got no information at all. "I would say to check out our website" I kept saying that I did, and i asked for a phone number, but the associate didn't have a number to contact, and apologized. Which is ridiculous, there should be a number to call if this was a legitimate travel agency.
I then, for fun, called the "Travel and Discount" company, and i told the lady everything, and she got irritated with me and said she couldn't help me. Were obviously not going to this presentation.
If you go to the presentation, be careful. Do not let your family be a victim of the next "Daryl T. Turner." It might be legitimate, and it might be a fraud. It's up to you.
Sorry this post was so long, but I hope it makes someones life a little easier!
WOW! I just received my award letter and it's signed by ANOTHER VP! Shauna West. How can a company afford to pay soooo many VP's after giving away soooo many free travel vouchers?!?!?
Don't be duped!! An obvious SCAM.
I received mine in the mail today in the official looking envelope... the kind where you first remove the perforated edges on either end, and then the last perforated edge on the top. It opens up to reveal a "check"... PAY TO THE ORDER OF: US Airlines on behalf of (my first, last name). $1,400.00.
The upper left corner of the "check" reads:
US Airlines
Fly the US Skies
866-216-5145
The center, top of the check reads:
Travel Union
Phoenix, AZ 85006
12-862211/4114
The MEMO reads: Must Be Redeemed for air ticket or alternate travel certificate
The check is signed by, get this... Jane Austin.
There is a letter of sorts included with this mailing, discussing exactly the same thing everyone else has mentioned... it's the FINAL NOTICE (even though I've never received anything like this before), it expires in 2 days, and if it's not redeemed, the Award Certificate will be transferred to the alternate.
Is this a scam? They're not asking me to provide them with any personal information... credit card number, bank account number, social security number... none of that. I would, however, have to sign the back of this "check" in order for it to be valid, which isn't going to happen.
It most certainly may end up with me receiving a voucher for two round trip tickets somewhere, but I neither have the time, nor patience to sit thru what will most likely be a 60+ minute seminar about how awesome it would be to sign up with XYZ company in order to get super awesome deals on super awesome travel packages to the most super awesome places on earth. Thank you, but no thanks. I can find my OWN super awesome travel deals to super awesome places around the world, and I don't have to sit through any bogus seminars either prior to going on said vacation, or after reaching my destination and they put on a mandatory seminar at the host resort.
No thanks. I'll be contacting the USPS and any number of other websites mentioned in this thread to report this activity. It's a waste of everyone's time, it preys on the uninformed, and honestly, it's a major waste of paper.
oh yeah... I'm in Chicago...
Got one yesterday! I googled and found you guys! I was looking to see if this US Airlines logo was legit. I would def say THIS IS A SCAM! No one gives away $1,400 and especially in a recession for free!
It read they've tried to contract me on several occasions. They had my name spelled wrong and I called the number to see if it was the airline and it wasn't. It just said awards department.
I'm not and if I were you I wouldn't trust it! I won't hurt anything if you just let it pass you by. Nothing free. Not even the air we breath.
I'm so glad this thread is here. Our child has been very ill for over two years. The doctor that has been helping her is a 9 hour drive away which is very painful for her to endure. So flying is a little better. Unfortunately, we have used up our savings paying for her treatments and doctor's visits. I am always on the lookout for cheap airfare to get her to these appointments. So I was thrilled when I opened up what most of you have already received. It looked like a real award notification. I called the number to find out more and then started searching online to see if it is a scam.
I agree, nothing is free. However, sometimes there are contests and sweepstakes out there that do give away prizes. That said, I can't tell you my disappointment not to get two tickets paid for to take her to her next doctor's visit. I can only imagine people in worse situations than ours jumping on this for a very real need.
BTW, I googled the address I was given to attend a presentation. It pulled up The Vacation Station which appears legit as a travel agency. http://www.thevacationstationmembers.com/
It looks like they give "rebates" to members who book their travel to them.
Their ads (mailings) are deceptive. Should you believe their website? Their salesmen?
'Nuff said.
Thanks for this FORUM I didn't waste any time with this SCAM.
My letter was received 8/22/2011 signed by Jessica Nish using phone number 866-283-1937
SCAM SCAM SCAM!
For heaven's sake, just shred the thing. Why are you spending all this time on it. People don't just give you things. Don't be trusting, dont' be gullible; do your research. Be smart. Don't waste your time and energy
I can't believe this thread is still going strong. BTW, did you know the word "gullible" is not in the dictionary?
I got 1 too.
Wake forest, NC.
and the invitacion had my name.
same thing logo of Carnival cruise and Us Airways.
I didnt call them back but I can't tell right away is a scam.
thanks for all the postings, always very helpul
The more this thread grows, the higher it will google and warn off curious recipients.
received my official award notification yesterday from Phx, I live in Avondale, AZ a Phoenix suburb. 1400.00 check Calll 1-866-271-1092 states specifically that it is not for a Timeshare or land sales offer. Guess i wont waste my time. Im glad someone started this... all i had to do was google!
The scam continues. Just received my "free" offer from Vice President Riley Bach in Phoenix, AZ, no return address, to call him at 866-240-5844 to receive two free airline tickets to anywhere in the continental US with certain unspecified restrictions. The letter was dated Sept. 3rd, postmarked Sept. 7th and the offer dies on Sept. 14th. I will be taking this to my postmaster (before the USPS goes bankrupt on Sept. 30th) to complain about obvious mail fraud.
Got mine today in Pittsburgh, PA. My Vice President is also Riley Bach. My letter is exactly as the one stated above and I received the british woman's voice when I tried to call. Just wanted to get back at them.....
I got mine today in Deerfield Beach, FL from Riley Bach. It is dated Sept. 6, expires the 16th. I searched the phone number 866-230-8018 and it took me to 800notes.com where someone had the same letter and phone number (and dates).

Looking at the handwritten envelope, there are 4 lowercase e's and all are different so if it is computer-printed, it is very clever. Spacing between each word is pretty wide. Line baselines are not even.
I do not plan on calling so they can award the two tickets to the alternate
Got mine in yesterday's mail. Signed by "Marsha Kid", Vice President. 866-238-5672. Glad I looked this up before calling- Scammers stink!!
I have also received "the letter" with a handwritten address.
We have attempted contacting you several times without success.....last attempt.....Call
Oddly Eneough It Was A Different Vice President Not Laura Shane or Ann Roy..but this time a Marsha Kid ..Huh Wonder How Many Vice Presidents Thy Go Thru.
I am from the East coast of Florida, Clearwater. I cant believe this scam is still going. I see posts from almost a year ago about this which seems to be a scam none the less. you'd think the Government would do something about it. They spend all the money busting people with a Marijuana cigarette, but cant bust a Nation wide scam thats been going on for over a year.. So much for all that Homeland Security BS!
Is anyone keeping count of how many "Me, too!" posts there have been?
Rec'vd my computer generated letter and enclosed $1400 check today from US Airlines "Fly the Friendly Skies". The tipoff that this is bogus is that there's no such company as US Airlines. The check is signed by D Wade and the return address on the check is; Travel Union, Phoenix, AZ. 85006. Attached letter says to call 1-866-238-7408 before Sept. 26th or else I will lose the award. Also says its not a timeshare or land sales offer. Mine is going in the recycling bin. Thanks to all who've shared their experience.
Add another "me too." Received a very official-looking document (tear off sides) marked "travel check" for $1400 from U.S. Airlines. The "check" has a return address of "Travel Union, Phoenix, AZ 85006" Phone number 866-228-2870. Hand signed by M. Jay, no title. Marked "This is not a timeshare or land sales offer."
All I find when I google "Travel Union" is scam reports.
Got the same free tix to US Airlines. There is also a scam with Publishers Clearinghouse and the phone # is the scam. You call what looks like a free call that is routed through another country and rack up a big bill, I've heard $1,000+ in some cases. The phone co. says you made the call and are responsible. Seem to really prey on the elderly. They also try to get personal info as well. Be careful about even calling to check on these things.
Yes the letters have made their way Phoenix. The wording of the letter is vague,DO NOT FALL FOR IT
US Airlines has now reached the greater Denver market. US Airlines is pleased to inform me that I have qualified for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets. My friends, these ticket are "valid for travel anywhere in the Continental U.S. from any major international airport. (I feel fortunate to live near Denver which, as you may know, does have an international airport). "The retail value of this award is up to $1,400.00. Certain restrictions apply."
I was sad to hear that they had attempted to contact me several times without success. As a business owner, I am always distressed when people have to make several attempts to try to reach me. US Airlines further advised that this is its last attempt and if they do not hear from me soon, they may need to issue the ticket vouchers to the alternate.
They invite me to call today at 1-866-269-0629. The vice-preident herself signed the letter: a certain Linda Ford.
The letter was sent from Phoenix on October 3 and metered at 11 PM in a plain envelope, handwritten address, but no return address.
Of course, if you have made it this far down this comment page, you aleady know that this is a standard letter in inviting my participation in a scam.
The up side is this: when I googled: "United Airlines scam letter," this site and its hundred plus comments was the top result. I was therefore easily able to confirm that this is a scam letter.
And no, I am not going to call the number and play along (as entertaining as that might be), because I'd rather go to bed and be ready for tomorrow. I do hope that a federal mail fraud charge is forthcoming somewhere.
I got my letter on 10/05/2011 with a "Recorded" date of 9/23/11. I'm in Indianapolis, Indiana and my version of the letter was the one which looks like a tax document with "Official Documents Enclosed" and "Final Notice" on it and when you open it the bottom has what looks like a voucher for a plane ticket. Like many others the "US Airlines" is what tipped me off.
I'm really disappointed that I wasn't worthy of the vice president signing mine. I just have the phone number for the awards dept. 1-866-228-3913.
We have attempted contacting you several times without success.....last attempt.....Call 866-269-0604
I copied this from one of the other postings. My letter says exactly the same thing!
Look familiar. This was is Chicago. Guess they are expanding horizons.
Got mine in the mail today. I live in phoenix, and the US Airlines logo just didn't look right. Thanks for alerting me to this scam, and I am putting it in the shredder right now. The contact number on the award notification is 1-866-265-8657. fyi.
I got one of the letters last week in MA, and when I realized it said US Airlines instead of US Airways, I threw it out.
So we jut got ours in the mail today. $1400.00 for 2 tickets anywhere. funny our phone # is 1-866-203-8201 came with no return address. its dated September 29th and expires October 17th got to love these wonderfull scams.
Ours came in the mail, the date was September 26, letterhead US Airlines with a NOTE: You must respond by October 5th, 2011 at the top. We also were told we QUALIFIED for an award of 2 roundtrip (sic) airline ticket valid for travel anywhere in the Continental US from any major international airport, with a retail value of $1400 and "certain restrictions apply". Then they said they have attempted to contact us several times without success and this is their last attempt. The number they gave was 866-207-3260 and it was signed Linda Ford, Vice President. I called the number and was immediately re-routed to a british accent voice saying you have reached our awards department. Then I hung up LOL
We got one today too from US Airways, we are in Mesa, AZ. My husband is calling right now pretending to be me- the lady is laughing cause my name is Christine! hahaha
They're sending the information to our old address! This is fun!
They're trying to get us in tonight at 8 for something...not sure what...
6160 N Scottsdale Rd
Scottsdale, AZ 85253
Recv'd the same letter today 10-20-11 in Queen Creek, Arizona (SE of Phoenix). Handwritten, no return address, same wording as all the above referenced letters, phone 1-866-251-3491(another new number) and signed by Jade Beal (also not referenced in any earlier posts), Vice President.
PLEASE DO NOT THROW AWAY THESE LETTERS. DROP THEM OFF AT YOUR LOCAL POST OFFICE, AS WELL AS PRINTING THESE POSTS, SO THEY WILL HAVE THE NAMES & PHONE NUMBERS.
We received one today too with an expiration of November 4, 2011. Agree with previous poster that this should be taken to your local US Post Office since it has a permit number out of Phoenix, AZ. We live in Sun City, AZ. Maybe, just maybe, the USPS will do something about this since posting scams through the mail could be considered a federal offense.
Just got my "award" here in North Carolina. Looks just like an IRS form with a presorted paid postage stamp from Oklahoma City,OK. It says Official Documents Enclosed" & it does look pretty authentic. Phone number to claim my 2 free tickets for two on US Airlines is 1-866-245-0548. My notice is signed by the "Awards Department" and notes that it is NOT a timeshare or land sales offer. Don't do it. Just don't do it!
THIS IS A SCAM!!! It is very similar to one put out several years ago called DREAMWORKS VACATIONS.. Google that, it will scare the crap out of you. Stay away from them.
I was the second person to post on this thread a year ago. I just got one of these offers in the mail too. My card not only implies it's from US Air, but also Carnival Cruise Lines. It has a ship on the front and says Carnival and has a picture of their logo. A 7 day/6 night cruise and air on US Airlines. In tiny print it says not sponsored or affiliated with Carnival Cruise Lines. I might drop the card by the local post office so they can investigate the scam.
Got my letter today, too. I didn't think there was a US Airlines, and I certainly didn't remember signing up for a contest...besides, the "deadline" passed 3 days ago!
Thanks for the tip about turning in the mail to the post office--I'll do that ASAP
Received mine today from US Airlines. But unlike all of the other ones I have read about mine was on a nice and fancy postcard with a picture of an unmarked airplane flying over palm trees on the front. It says verbatim "2 Round Trip Airfares Courtesy of us*" I don't know what the asterisk is to represent because there is no disclaimer anywhere. Mine is postmarked west palm beach, FL. I live in Orlando. I knew it was a scam immediately and just googled it to see how popular this particular one was. Obviously very popular. Living in Orlando I'm assuming its for a timeshare presentation. Be safe people. Very shocked how long this particular letter has been circulating. Is anyone aware of any ongoing investigation?
Got my letter on "US Airlines" letterhead, signed by Vice President Jade Beal. Postmarked from Phoenix, AZ on 10/21/2011. I called the number to hear what it would say. It's a British female voice. I think this is the same 855-792-9072 number that has been calling me, day and night. No one is ever on the line when I answer. In Colorado, we have a No Call List and I'm on it. No matter, they are calling anyway and when I called it back, it's a British overseas number that they say may show up on my bill from Directory Assistance from Nevada. Wonder if that's the call center location? This morning they called before 8 AM!!!! Driving me nuts. Every time I answer, there's no one on the line and it hangs up. Grrrr.

Anyway, won't fall for the scam thanks to this thread.
Stay calm, stay alert, stay closed-lipped!!!!
Similar to most above, I received a "Final Notice" with Paid postage from Phoenix AZ (Permit No 1484) marked "Personal and Confidential" which included a "Travel Check" from US Airlines for $1400 dated Oct 11th and signed by B Hunt, with Memo "Must Be Redeemed for air ticket or alternate travel certificate". Included is a check with endorsement area on back side. Bank info included below. Interesting communication.

My thoughts:
I'd like to see more comments from people who actually called them, and know what they said. Was there much follow up? I'm skeptical to follow up and call as well.
Clearly this is a marketing ploy... scam is walking a fine line. A scam or illegal activity would warrant an investigation, followed by several counts of mail fraud, racketeering, conspiracy, and so on. It will be interesting to see what happens to these guys.
In Chicago by the way... with 2 international airports close by.
Ive been to several 90 min presentation and all it is is timeshare. Company's offer these deals to advertise their business. I received a roundtrip for 2 with 3 days to las Vegas on the strip and just had to pay hotel and airport taxes which was about 350 for the both of us. I receive one of this travel checks yesterday and will be calling today. All I know is I have received several gifts with the timeshare offer and never had a problem with the 90min timeshare offer. Just came back from Orlando this summer from one. Check out my face book for pic of the resort awsome. Time share offer only ask for credit card for identification purposes only.
Listen people read the check us airlines FLY THE US SKIES. You assume thats an airline company its just a company trademark that work with different airlines in the us that's why its called us airlines. This is they way of advertising different types of vacation offer. This is how I vacation every year and I went on one this year for 6 days in two bedroom condo at the fountain resort. Check it out. For onky 279 total with taxes.
Company is legitimate its their way of advertising their
vacation packages like timeshare properties do. Theirs no credit card ir any ssn# given over the phone. Just have to attend their presentation and the free tickets are yours. Of course you have ti pay the taxes but that's anywhere. So those who threw them away you missed out.
I received the same from Oklahoma! I called and made an appointment for a 90 minute video representation. This sounds exactly like the Trendwest timeshare meetings I used to attend. Like the guy above mentioned, I dont think it's a scam necessarily! If you are looking to travel and get discounted hotel and round-ticket flights, it's not a bad deal. In fact, they gave away enough freebies at the meeting to compensate the time spent. I received gas cards, restaurant vouchers and other vacation packages. I made like I was interested in more time share packages and they rolled out the red carpet. I will forewarn that when you make your travel arrangements, you won't get holiday or weekend departure times. You also do have boarding taxes and luggage fees. It still is far below the norm. Good Luck!
Hi,
Might anyone have a photo of these documents to share? Thanks!
Thanks everyone for bringing this ongoing scam to light. Check out our news coverage of it here:

My brother received one also here at my house with the US Airlines with the logo shown on the sample on the home page. His copy does not say Fly the US Skies. It has the same language about the two free tickets worth up to $1,400. It says to call 1-866-314-2734. It was dated October 28th, sent from Phoenix, AZ, and says to respond by November 2nd, signed by Nicole Clay, Vice President. U.S. Airways' log is an American flag. This has the like two giant arrow type log and very generic. Obviously just created in the computer and printed. It was addressed either handwritten or using a handwriting font, using a regular postage stamp. I figured it was a scam and that is why I searched. I thought I would share. I do have the letter.
I just got mine in WV. Phone number 866-306-2142 computer signed by vice president Nicole Clay. Same computer with blue cartridge in printer addressed the plain white envelope the letter came in. I'm a little bumbed, I only got a plain white letter, I didn't get the fake voucher or fake check.
What a cheap scam, US Airlines is a ripoff. Also the promise of the flight in the US is within the Continental US. This is a trick to get your eyes while quickly scanning the letter to confuse you with Continental Airline. It should have read the continental US.
Shred the thing.
I live in the Chicago burbs. Just got my "final notice" for $1,400 for 2 round-trip airline tickets to US Airlines. It comes in the form of a payroll check; bend-and-tear edges and a "check" with an official-looking blue background payable to US Airlines on behalf of me. The signature looks like "A. Bain", but the name's not printed anywhere, and either is this person's title. The number they provide is 866-307-9649.
It does say - underlined - that "this is not a timeshare or land sales offer." Legally, they have to inform you if it is one of those, so I wouldn't trust any of the above posts that say it is or might be a timeshare presentation. It shouldn't be one if they printed that on the invite.
