Travelling with infants

Hey there guys I was wondering if you could please help me out with some information about travelling with young children. I am studying for a degree in design and for a final assignment I must design a travel accessory for babies or infants. I have often seen parents whether together or alone with their kids struggling to manage luggage trolleys and the kids and their stuff as well. If you have had this experience, could you please post what it was like, why you had trouble and what you would like to see in a possible product based solution

I would love some sort of seat-back organizer, along the lines of an over-door shoe organizer. It would need to be light, maybe mesh?, maybe slip over the tray table while it's open, so that it's secure and ready to use when the tray table is stowed. I would like pockets for pacifiers, small toys, a bottle of water, crayons, snacks - the things I like to keep to hand while we are flying, but don't want to risk losing under the seat, or storing in the potentially gross seatback pocket. Bonus if the pockets had a velcro closure. And a way to attach a plastic grocery sack for garbage, because we generate it a lot faster than the FA's come around to collect it. Maybe a few loops to attach toys to.

Heck, if I could sew, I might try to make one right now - the more I think about it, the better it sounds!

Thanks for the idea it might well be something I look into as a parallel to go with this assignment. Have you ever had any trouble navigating the inside of the airport with the baggage trolleys and children at all? I've spoken to a few parents who have, I'm looking for people's experiences and what issues they would need a new product to address whilst navigating inside the terminal. All feedback is really helpful thanks again

Oh, sorry, didn't realize you were specifically focusing on moving around. Yes, I have to juggle an infant and a 4yr old who's often either tired from being woken for an early flight, or jet-lagged from an overnight flight home. Can't tell you how often I have wished for a grocery-cart-style luggage cart, so I could have a place for the 4yr old to ride safely. I have, on more than one occasion, balanced her on top of a pile of luggage or let her ride on the handle while I am pushing. Not the best solution, but sometimes my only option.

Be innovative. The best travel accessory if you have a young child is a babysitter.

As a frequent flyer, don't travel with small children.

If you do, sedate them.

An air-permeable, sound-proof chamber.
