Travel insurance-"cancel for ANY reason" clause

People have any advice on WHICH COMPANIES are the best? We're in the US. Travelguard does not offer cancel for any reason coverage. Do any?

Yes, lots of companies offer the option, but I don't know much about it. One thing to keep in mind. Often this does not include cancellations for business reasons (that's a separate option on some policies, and an expensive one). So it's not really cancel for ANY reason.

Also, I gather the "cancel for any reason" add-on options still come with restrictions. I doubt there's ever a 100%-refund, no-questions-asked, here's-your-money-back policy. Read the fine print very carefully.

That's true ... and you usually have to book the policy within a week to 10 days after making the initial deposit or payment for the trip.

Native New Yorker,

Re-check Travel Guard. We just return a few weeks ago from a China trip with Smartours, and we used Travel Guard,( been using them for years) and we had The cancel for any reason added on, It was an optional around $70 additional. Also they offer optional add on "business" cancel for any reason If you book within I think its 2 weeks of your deposit then pre-exiting medical conditions are also cover We had the gold plan. Judy

Travelinggrammy-thanks much. Yes, they are indeed the most reasonable and trusted option! Once again, this website rocks because the people on it are so generous with their time and experience.
