Tickets for Rome

I am looking at going to Rome in November and I have been watching airfare prices from Baltimore for the past month and the prices have been holding steady. The price I have found is $1175 with one stop. I was hoping to get a low rate then that since November is a low season to Rome. Does that rate seem high to you guys? Should I buy at that rate or wait for a lower fare?

I'd wait. We typically fly ORD-ZRH in mid-November and usually pay about $850.

Rome is tricky. It is one of those European cities that is becoming popular all year long. It used to be that prices would go down in October but now it seems to be so popular no matter what month you go. Personally I love traveling the later part of January as the crowds are not there and the weather is great to me! Where are you flying from?

farecompare.com great tips always wait they drop in Aug for fall. aa.com cheap even free for us with their AAdvantage CC points this year you have time to try for that. We also save flying RT to LON then RT to ROM on ryanair.com or easyjet.com from 15 Quid each way. kayak.com cheapoair.com also good for me.

Good luck!

Unless you are planning on leaving out of Gatwick or Stanstead,I wouldn't waste your time, energy and money on flying to London.By the time you get nickeled and dimed to death on Ryan Air I would think twice. I enjoy flying Easy Jet but be prepared for ONE carryon (read your purse, computer, camera and everything else must go into one piece) and you have to pay to check your luggage(again getting so many kilos per price). It is soooo much easier to just do a nonstop out of the US to FCO.
American,Delta,United,Us Airways and Alitalia all have nonstops to Rome.

I dont plan on going to London so I think I will try for a flight out of US. The only nonstop they have from my area is IAD but the prices for my travel dates are $1450. ouch. I kind of figure I will have stop over somewhere.

I checked JFK but it was only a few dollars less then BWI and I would have to factor in the 4 hr drive there, gas and parking.

You can enter multi departure cities on itasoftware to search. Are your dates a bit flexible? If so, select their month search function and enter how long you want to stay.

For departure city, enter like this:
BWI,IAD,PHL or use the nearby link and select the airports you want. Same thing for Italy.

On the calendar feature, you can enter 12-14 or whatever amount of time you want to stay. If you want to use search exact dates, you can still search a couple of days around your date (select the plus/minus in the drop down box that says this day only).

This site is search only. When you find a flight, book directly with that airline.
